nehaberlan Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Hi, I try to modify Dibella Statue by importing a block from another .nif file. I did it and saved it. Everything seems normal and I can see all the parts in NifSkope. In the Creation Kit, I dublicated the Dibella Statue, the renamed it. I assigned to my new .nif file. But, I couldn't see the new part that I imported on the statue. I've done importing a NiTriShape before for an armor, and it was successful, but in this statue attempt I couldn't succeeded. If you can help me anyway, I'll really appreciate..
par6six6 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 If you copy/pasted a branch from another nif, make sure to change the name of the newly pasted NiTriShape. When pasting, a NiTriShape's name will change to something that's existing in the nif, and you can't have two NiTriShapes with the same name.
Vioxsis Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Did the trishape you pasted have the "skinned" shader flag set in the BSLightingShaderProperty?
nehaberlan Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Did the trishape you pasted have the "skinned" shader flag set in the BSLightingShaderProperty? It looks there are two Shader Flags as Shader Flags 1 and Shader Flages 2. When I tried to modify a Vanilla Dibella Statue, I was successful. But, when I tried with edhildil's version, I couldn't. I didn't understand why it happened. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/55167/? If you copy/pasted a branch from another nif, make sure to change the name of the newly pasted NiTriShape. par6six6 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Ok, no difference really. What exactly are you trying to add? Is it just not rendering in the Model Data window? Do you see the added Trishape in the list? (there should be 3)
Dillpickle Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 If you could attach/upload your modified nif file, so people could take a look at what's going on, it would make trouble shooting the problem a lot easier.

Vioxsis Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 There is quite a lot wrong with each nif, but to list things you need to do. 1, Nest all nitrishapes in the BSFadeNode or ninode respectively, and don't add any more . 2. Static meshes should not have BSDismemberSkinInstance or bone nodes (unless its an animated nif) 3, The shader type should not be skin nor should it have shader flags set for the skin. 4, Copying the BSLightingShaderProperty from one of the other nitrishapes in the nif and pasting it to the nitrishape you added is a much faster way of setting everything up to match the rest of the model, so do that to get uniformity. 5, The textures are for the body which use a texture set that no other object in game make use of. (world space normal The _sk one that i think is for faking subsurface scattering...) 6, So to fix 4, and 5, you will need to use different textures, ones that match with the rest of the statue would look better anyway. (The ones the 'body' is using might work out well)

But, I tried the use original .dds files of the statue for the other part. The schlong looks brighter. I don't know how can I create _msn, _sk, _s, _n kind files for Skyrim. I used just the files I fund. This Dibella Statue nif works in CK. I don't understand the difference between the not working ones. StatueDibella2.7z
Vioxsis Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Well looking at it i think the reason why the others seem to not work is due to how transforms have been applied, or not as it were. The penis most likely shows on the others as well its just inside the base of the statue where as that one is in the correct place. Also the only textures that would need to be made are the diffuse and normal, but you should be able to get away with using the ones the body uses.. probably. Try the one i have attached and see if it works, i set the penis texture to the one the pedestal is using (i lined it up with the vanilla Dibella texture, so i'm not sure if it will work properly). Vioxsis Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 It took me barely 5 minutes to make the edit, and i do not plan on working for you. I did it to prove a point, to show you what it was i said above, you should now have an example that does what you want it too. So when you next try and do it yourself make sure it comes out like that and not the random mess each one of your nif files are in. But to put it as plan and simple as i can, don't use a skinned mesh for a static model, instead export the model you want as an obj (in this case the penis) And then import that obj in to the statues nif, then just clean up and edit it. (both export and import are located top left "file") All you have to do is mimic the vanilla nifs that's it. I guess supplying an example nif of what you were trying to do was a stupid idea.

It's a stupid idea. OK... But, this stupid nif merging caused to make me learn what I had to do if I encounter with a similar condition. Sending your version as a practice file was a great idea. I could understand much easier. And I can compare other files with your version to understand where did I go wrong. Doing the modifications could take just five minutes for you, but for me it could take weeks. I've already known you don't plan on working for me. I never mentioned that. My English is poor. I have problem about finding the proper words/verbs in sentences. For that reason, I mostly misunderstand, or I can't say what I mean. I just wanted to say "Thank You". That's it.
