I have read a lot of very different solutions, so I don't know which is the good one. bobknight7 Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Use Boris Vorontsov's VRAM size tool and use the DX9 version. Take the number it gives you and subtract it from 170 since you're using Windows 7. The number you get is the number you should put in VideoMemorySizeMb. I'd link you his tool but I'm not allowed to since I have less than ten posts. EDIT: Since you have more than 4GB of VRAM, however, Skyrim won't benefit from using more than that because it's a DirectX 9 game. Only DirectX 11 and above will be able to use all 6GB from your graphics card (and no, Microsoft is never going to fix this because DX9 is old and outdated). If you had a 4GB card, your number in the size tool would come out as 4064 (because mine does, GTX 970) and you should subtract 170 from that, leaving you with 3894. Input that as your VideoMemorySizeMb.
monsta88 Posted July 12, 2016 Author Posted July 12, 2016 @bobknight7 Thank you, I will try it. On the other hand, the dx9 vram tool you advised reported 13888 MB... So again, I have 2 very different numbers. I also read somewhere, that I shouldn't set it over 10240.
