smarenwolf Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Sooooo, I have a small huge problem. No matter what I try, as soon as I put some additional mods into my game (it came with velocitygrass_nomosaic_1_63.package and has some launcher-patched Sims 3 Store Updates/Fixes), I can't load saved games. The last test a few minutes ago was just adding _one_ mod, nraas_woohooer. no cigar Any ideas?
Wicked Loveth Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Sooooo, I have a small huge problem. If you're using Nraas mods--maybe you should use the Decensor? It removes the mosaic too. Are you using the correct version of Nraas' mods? What version of TS3 are you running? For instance, if you're running 1.63 then you should be using Nraas woohoo v. 1.63, etc.
smarenwolf Posted June 6, 2016 Author Posted June 6, 2016 I'm using the correct version, yes. IIRC, I have 1.67, and all mods on nraas' website are - in their latest version - something like 1.63-1.69. Shouldn't nraas' mods be "kinda standalone"? (things like mastercontroller_progression of course needs storyprogression) I mean, shouldn't the type of decensor not matter? Edit: Tried using the nraas-decensor instead of the other.. nope.
Saeloth Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Dude, you really need to get use with s3pe. Google for merging packages with s3pe. Merge all script-free mods of same categories like clothes, cars etc in single packages but do not merge core files or linked packages like KinkyWorld, animations for it or Nraas mods. Sims 3 is very vulnerable to big quantities of package files. Everyone who has lots of mods must be familiar with merging packages. Sorry if my english is bad, I'm russian.
Saeloth Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Ah, one more thing about speeding up Sims 3. You also need to get familiar with symbolic links. All *.package mods for Sims are located at C:\Users\Name\Documents\Electronic shit\you_know_where. This results in bullshit performance, high loading time, lag spikes etc. Windows 7 and higher versions has native support of symbolic links. Sybolic link is like shortcut when physically folder or file is located on one hard drive but logically system sees it on different but without loss of performance like with usual shortcuts. 1. Cut your folder with Sims 3 directory from Documents and place it on different hard drive. 2. Launch command line interface with Win+R and typing CMD. 3. Command for creating link will be as follows: mklink /j "c:\Users\Name_Of_The_User\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3" "x:\Sims 3" Where x is letter of hard drive where you place Sims 3 folder from Documents. Hard drive must be different from the one on which your OS installed. Best choice is SSD for hardware. Simple description of "mklink" command is - mklink /j "where_it_was" "where_it's_now" P.S. Problem described in 1st post looks like unability of Sims 3 to load all mods. There is 2 problems that can cause this shit - lots of mods or mods that trying to alter something same. That's why I described here all of this tricks. BTW, Kill_The_Cache_Files! Especially script cache everytime when you installing scripted mods. Google for it.
Saeloth Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 One more thing about merging. Do not merge custom sliders mods. They will be available after merging but it cause a lot of funny glitches with saved characters that are using those sliders.
millionserved Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I agree with Loveth it sounds like it may have something to do with your Nraas mod and the version of your game. You may want to check again to see what version your game is and possibly just take out all of your Nraas stuff out and see if the game loads without any Nraas stuff installed. If it loads without the Nraas stuff try putting in the Nraas mods and just leave out the Woohooer mod. I don't know if you have tried that yet or not.
