Head Swap Tutorial

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnPK94GmiBc&vq=hd720

Swapping head allows you to use character as different character's look.

And this also allows additional character movies using various combinations.

What You Need

- TMC Bone Tool

http://www.mediafire.com/folder/9zi2gt8dyllaj/doa5mod

- Auto Link

http://bbs.3dmgame.com/thread-5065534-1-3.html

This can be done in Lnk_Reshuffle, but I didn't try.

But AutoLink definitely is most convenient tool for this and I recommend to learn how to use it.

How to do

First what you should do is to place a set of files into AutoLink's character folder

for example,

COS_01.TMC

COS_01.TMCL

COS_01.HAIR.TMC

COS_01.HAIR.TMCL

COS_01.FACE.TMC

COS_01.FACE.TMCL

COS_01.--C (Optional : especially when hair's not displaying)

COS_01.--P (Optional: especially when hair's not displaying)

COS_01.--H (Optional)

COS_01.--HL (Optional)

Next, open TMC Bone Tool.

If you want Pai, acting like leifang,

Open Pai's Face file on first slot,

And open Leifang's Face file on second slot.

And next just press Save button.

So if you have placed Pai's tmc files on Leifang's autolink folder,

you can select Pai when you choose Leifang in character selection screen.

This affects game playing and also in character movies.

Pai As Leifang.7z

Limitations

Unfortunately, this is not totally free to do.

Exchanging is only allowed between some groups.

- Ayane,  Kasumi

- Kokoro, Leifang, Hitomi, Momiji, Nyotengu, Mila, Pai

- Lisa, Tina, Rachel, Helena, Naotora

And even if you swap heads between allowed-groups,

Some may cause problems in the eyes.

For example, in second group, Hitomi doesn't have good compatibility in face bone,

So you may see some troubles after you swap head between another characters.

I didn't checked them all, but Naotora also had problems in the eyes when she's glancing left or right or closing eyes.

There are some crude ways to fix it, but I'm not going to mention it here because it is quite complicated

and it doesn't guarantees perfect quality either.

No swap option for Marie and Honoka?

Sadly, no :'(

Exceptions

When you put Naotora into Lisa or Tina's slots or whatever,

You should also need to use TMC Bone Tool to the body.

For example, if you want to put Naotora into Tina,

In TMC Bone Tool, open Naotora's Body TMC on first slot,

And open Tina's Body TMC file(Whatever it is) on second slot.

And save.

That will help for neck connection.

--------

Kokoro has some weight problem in her face.

If you put it into Leifang's slot after using TMC Bone Tool, you'll see some serious distortion.

So I made a fixed version of it.

You can use this for swapping and also for kokoro her own.

Nice Harry. :D

Indeed, a "not so bizarre" for Marie in Story Mode is swapping Sarah for her. Just 1 short movie. :-/

I remember trying with Saaf's custom body once.

Maybe there can be similar tutorial like this already.

But I didn't see that many people trying this and this became really easy with using AutoLink.

And I got some request for this tutorial in somewhere else. :)

I just tried it and it worked for me just fine, just try it again and make sure you're following directions. Maybe if I write them here it may help, cause it is a little confusing:

Let's say you want MAI's face and body to appear in KOKORO's paradise mod (as in, MAI's entire face/body will be a selectable costume for KOKORO):

Let's get our files in order first by opening up link reshuffle and exporting MAI's default face and hair as well as KOKORO's default head (you won't need KOKORO's hair). ***If you don't know how to extract, see the bottom of this post***

Open up the Bone tool and load MAI's face in the top field, then open KOKORO's field in the second field (the bone data), save your file. Save it and name it something like "Mai_Face(UseWithKokoro).tmc" for easy organization. Rename the Mai_Face.tmcl file to match since the Bone Tool will only make the .tmc, not the .tmcl file.

Go into link reshuffle and assign the Mai_Face(UseWithKokoro).tmc and .tmcl file for, let's say, costume 5 for Kokoro as well as Mai_hair.tmc and .tmcl. for costume 5.

Start your game up, select Kokoro in any game mode (movie or fight) and select her costume 5 (or whichever you chose) and her head should appear as Mai.

That's how I did it for both Nao (into Helena) and Mai (into Kokoro) and they worked just fine for me on my first try :)

***how to extract in link_reshuffle)***:

Click MAI's character set from the top left character drop down list

From the center, lok for MAI_FACE.tmc and click on it

Click "Extract" from the button on the right.

Repeat for the MAI_FACE.tmcl and hair.tmc and hair.tmcl files.
