Some days, I just shouldn't get out of bed

I've been wanted to change out my motherboard for a while.  I had a nice board that had a max RAM limit of 32 GB, but I was only running 16.  It was a few years old.  It died a while back, so I was using a backup board that had a limit of 8gb.  So it was quite limiting.

So after a long time of trying to save up (I am disabled and can't work, trying to get disability but they are fighting me) I finally am able to get one.

It comes in today.  I bought the updated version of that original board.  Install seemed to go well.  Got my 16GB ram in.  CPU seemed to go in.  All SEEMED well.

Nope.  Wouldn't power on.  OK.  This ain't my first build.  I've been doing this for 20 years.  I can figure this out.  Pull everything, make sure it's all seated...Nothing seems wrong.  I take a closer look at the board...Several bent and broken pins.  Not by my doing, mind you.  Manufacturing defects.  Ugh.  OK.  So I put my board back in.  Hook everything back up.

nope.

THE FORK?!?!

Turns out during the CPU transfer, due to my failing eyesight (Thanks to getting older) I didn't notice that I bent and broke off several pins on the CPU, forever destroying that CPU.

I broke down and spent money I shouldn't have and bought a pre-built computer because thanks to age, I can't build computers anymore.  I can't see well enough anymore.  *cry*

Worst part is that I can only put one of my hard drives in this computer.  It will be my 4tb drive...and I have to figure out a better video then the i530 built in video....but meh.  At least I am back...
