farranya Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 After long time of not playing I started fallout 4 after letting the DLCs install. When I loaded my game I notice many of my mods were not working including custom bodies. I looked for ways to fix them and found something that gave instructions to go to App Data Fallout 4 and then edit the plugins.txt by putting the " * " next to the mod names and set to read only. After I did that and started fallout 4 the game instantly close to desktop without error. It didn't even load the logo. I have changed my plugins.txt back to the way it was before. I tried verifying game files and deselect mods in fallout4modmanager and my game still wont start.

I dont know if there is an update for fallout4modmanager but there is probably a fix out for load order related issues considering even mod organizer has solved this. However should find that this does not solve your issue, you may consider switching to a different manager.
farranya Posted May 24, 2016 Author Posted May 24, 2016 Never mind. I forgot I had back up copies of all my folders on another harddrive. I switched to mod organizer 2 beta and my game works again. k now after i installed a gun mod and run the game it gives a warning saying my save relies on content that is not available. All my mods just stopped working for no reason but the mod organizer says all are activated.
Smirenka Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 The workaround I had to use for this was dump all ESPs in the data folder like NMM does. I'm sure there is/will be a better solution, but as I haven't found it. Also, don't dump anything else, just the ESP/Ms. If you do any of the other files the mod breaks that way, too.

Fallout4.esm DLCworkshop01.esm DLCRobot.esm DLCCoast.esm *10% Fusion Core Drain.esp *CraftableAmmunitions.esp *LegendaryModification.esp *Killable Children.esp ----------- my advise dont use those pointless mod managers, just directly edit config files.

After uninstalling and reinstalling few times everything is working again. My plugin.txt automatically adds the * now.

Varithina Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I Need fallout4.esm any one can tell me where i get please? If you have the game installed look in the fallout 4\data directory if it is not there then go into steam and verify the game files and it should re download. If you have discs then you could also re-install from them, though that may require you to re-verify the game through steam for its security side of things.
