mewwwkittytt Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Does the geography of Skyrim exist as a single 3d model? I would imagine it would be gigantic if that were the case. So it might be separated into cells, right? Where would I start looking in the game directory for these files? Can I view them in the creation kit? Is the ground, mountains, room for the water in rivers, etc. in these files or are they all separate? Just interested in the geography for now. -edit- Just thought of something, the world map's 3d model might have some of the detail.
Akzyra Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Sound interesting: What are your plans? Lots of the terrain is sculpted inside the CK. Other parts are models like the rocks, mountain cliffs and so on. Yes, you could use the 3d map, but that is divided into parts which would need to put together. Lots of files if you want the highest detail. There are 2 types of files: the sculpted terrain (.btr) and the objects (.bto) which are placed but in lower detail. The format of these files is different from normal NIFs. Other very tedious method: Someone made a high map ingame for Fallout 4 Sanctuary by teleporting in steps and reading the values.
