That weasel Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 So, quicksaves and autosaves are taking an immense amount of time. Deleting the save file fixes it for a single auto or quick save, then it's back to taking a ludicrous amount of time. I've fiddled with my load order and tried disabling a few mods i think could be causing it but nothing seems to be working. One thing I did turn up in my searching for an answer is someone mentioned the skse nioverride log thing - Serialized transforms and body morphs are taking upward of 10000ms each, it seems like this has something to do with the problem but i have no clue how to fix it.
Gameplayer Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Well you can try a few things, 1st don't keep a whole shit ton of saves in your save folder that actually slows down saving and loading....can cause crashing....Of course 10 saves isn't much but 50 to 100+ is a shit ton of extra stuff the game does a surface read on when accessing your folder. 2nd....Modding can cause fragmentation of the Hard Disk....Sounds crazy right? Thing is that the manufacturer didn't put out that statement about how you never actually need to defragment with our modding culture in mind....We move so much stuff onto and off our disk compared to normal computer users. Defragment the darn drive it'll make your whole experience better. Download Crash Fixes, -This things great it also throws up errors in game if your skse memory tweak isn't working so that's nice. -Get ENBBoost Maybe run your save through save cleaner. If I was having a problem with skse file that is regenerated during the game well....I'd probably just throw out said file and have another one made...thing is I'm on Mod Organizer those files that can be deleted are in my Overwrite Folder so I don't have to think real hard about which ones.

I've cleared out my save folder several times, it doesn't make a noticable difference beyond deleting the quick or auto save files, which is obviously a major pain in the ass to do every time i want to save. I'm pretty confident it isn't anything to do with my hard drive either. I've got safeload and a few other general stability and crash fixes going, and I've used savecleaner and the papyrus tool. I can fix the problem for one save, at which point it immediately goes back to taking ungodly amounts of time. as far as i can tell none of my save files are bloated (8mb) it seems like a particular mod is causing it, but as I said i've tried disabling the most likely (at least based in my fairly limited knowledge of how mods work) and it hasn't made any difference.
Leeeeeroy Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 i've had the same problem recently, and haven't found a fix for it, i just disabled most of the autosaves and kept playing. Also, ou load orders are really different, exept for some sexlab mods like devious devices, ftm and caputed dreams, but i already tested on brand new saves without then and it was still slowing down on autosaving, and i don't hink it's related to sexlab, if it was we would be seeing much more people having this issue EDIT: from wich mod is My Little Devious Ponies ? it looks ineresting
Gameplayer Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 I have a feeling it might be Texture Packs. My saves are 12 Megs, ENB Technochromatic Solid State Drive Thing is I don't have any texture overhauls other than Unofficial and the ones that come with the armors....Well Fair Skin which is pretty much either 2 or 4K but all my world textures are default pretty much...didn't see a point with strong enb presets to use high res textures. My game loads really fast. Thing is though that I have the gear. ENB presets and Texture packs will slow down some computers. _____________________________________________________ Estrues.esp The tentacle monster. ugh spelling, im tired.... You don't want that in your LO....but by now Im not so certain this will fix the issue you have described. I just know your only supposed to use the animations with some of the Sexlab mods but delete the esp.
Leeeeeroy Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 i don't run any texture packs as well and mostly texture stuff i install i use 512 or 1024 res for then (my gaming potato can't handle good textures)
That weasel Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 EDIT: from wich mod is My Little Devious Ponies ? it looks ineresting The devious rubber masks mod, it's an optional thing
zniachtl Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I used to have the problem with long quick and autosaves, then I found the PERFECT solution. Step 1: a simple change to Skyrimprefs.ini under [MAIN] bSaveOnPause=0 bSaveOnTravel=0 bSaveOnWait=0 bSaveOnRest=0 bSaveOnInteriorExteriorSwitch=0 Step 2: a simple change to Skyrim.ini [saveGame] iAutoSaveCount=3 This way you ensure Skyrim does NOT autosave (unless you create a new char or get to a scripted autosave point, certain quests have that) Step 3: rebinding Quicksave and Quickload in Skyrim's options to keys you NEVER use, so you accidentally hitting F5 doesn't cause a quicksave. Because: Quicksaves are BAAAAAAAD. If you always quicksave, you carry modcorpses and scriptcorpses in your quicksave, whose mods you removed a year ago, it's because when Skyrim quicksaves, it always uses the existing file. It's Bethesda, OF COURSE they didn't have the idea to make it delete the file first so the quicksave is always "new." And most important in a modded Skyrim is: Do NOT use the existing file, make a new save every single time you save.
delgathar Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Quicksave doesn't shut down scripts. So if your quicksave is long and your manual save is fast, then the culprit might be a script that won't surrender and let other processes run. Arthmoor did a bit of mythbusting on the whole quicksave is bad rumor. These are the rules I extracted. 1. Quicksaving is ok. Most of the statements against it is misinformation. 2. The problem with saves is restoring a save in the same cell, because not all information is cleared. So either only restore to a different cell, or shut down skyrim between saves. Thus the way many people use quicksaves, e.g. for pickpocketing, can lead to problems. 3. So the best place to use quicksaves is in an area where not many scripts are running. I had to kill a couple of script mods because they were dirty. Revenge of the Enemies was pretty bad. I've got an SSD and skytweak was taking over 130 seconds to load after a quicksave. Using scriptcleaner also doubled my fps and stopped a lot of my stuttering. Which it normally shouldn't have that effect, so RotE was really bogging my computer down. So when you start having long quicksaves or area loads, it is time to check out your scripts and figure out which ones are either running too often, running too many instances, or acting up in some other way. Also, if you are using MO it is good to filter for scripts and check to make sure none are conflicting.
