smudge78 Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 I've always had a heavily modded Skyrim. I've been using the BLEAK ENB as of late and noticed it takes anywhere from 40 - 60 seconds to load into game and between zones. I have skyrim installed on an SSD, R9 390, 16gb ram and 8 core cpu. I don't know if its the actual enb causing this or perhaps a mod I installed? Figured I'd ask for those of you with experience before I start uninstalling things.
Valgo Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Yes, from my experience, ENB's tend to do that. Back when I had a (much) weaker laptop I had to get rid of an, actually very performance friendly, enb because just walking outside breezehome took me like 2-3 minutes, nevermind loading a savefile somewhere in the wild which took nearly 8 minutes. I am not making this up. x)
flutie Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 yes, Boris stated ENB does increase load times, I use realvision and have the same result, mainly going from and internal to an external cell EDIT- Sniped by Valgo
smudge78 Posted April 28, 2016 Author Posted April 28, 2016 Thank you Valgo. That, sucks I really like bleak... but I like playing more
h38fh2mf Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 That sounds abnormal, it takes me about 3 seconds to load interior and 5-8 to load exterior first time.

Ya its probably the enb, I have an r9 390x, fx 8350 8 core 4.1 ghz, 8gb ram, SSD, so basically the same specs as you. Using Somber 3 enb (not luce lucida), the first load is a little over a minute with enb 3.05 However, It's only the main loading screen that takes so long for me. Cell transfer loads, even loading the exterior, only takes me a few seconds. If your constantly getting 1min loads throughout the game, something is wrong. When I'm configuring an HDT .xml or testing something and want fast loads, not eye candy. I simply move the d3d9.dll out of my main skyrim directory temporarily. That will disable your enb, then you can see how fast it loads before you decide to change enb. Somber 3 is still my favorite enb after years, it looks great and it does not have requirements like CoT or NLA or RLO, which are nice but conflict with tropical Skyrim's lighting overhaul. ELFX interior works pretty good with Tropical though. Somber 3 is major resource hog but not much more then Bleak, I average about 40 fps with about same setup as you and I've got tropical skyim in all it's full overgrown jungle glory with over sized foliage and flora to boot.
h38fh2mf Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Using an enb? Yeah I'm using Vividian, before that NLA but with both the loading times didn't change. Even on my old slow PC with a HDD the load times never went above 10 seconds, that's why I was wondering something else might be wrong here.

Yeah I removed the d3d9.dll and the game loaded soooo much faster. Gonna miss bleak:( EDIT: Found an old thread where someone suggested to set the ForceBorderless=true and ForceBorderlessFullscreen=true in the enb ini. In my case they were already set to true, someone else suggested turning them to false, I did, and now load times are fast again. Hooray I get to keep BLEAK
h38fh2mf Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 I just remembered something, are you using ENB's new synchronization stuff to reduce crashes?
smudge78 Posted April 28, 2016 Author Posted April 28, 2016 I just remembered something, are you using ENB's new synchronization stuff to reduce crashes? I'm not sure? I installed this( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38649/? ) around the time I installed bleak which has been sometime back. Is that what you are referring to?
4nk8r Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I just remembered something, are you using ENB's new synchronization stuff to reduce crashes? I'm not sure? I installed this( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38649/? ) around the time I installed bleak which has been sometime back. Is that what you are referring to? That mod you link is just a set of enblocal.ini files with various settings matching GPU types and memory settings. No binaries. What ENB version do you see when the game starts? I had this issue when using h38fh2mf crashfix dll's and I didn't set AlignHeapAllocate=0 in the crashfix.ini. It added about a full minute to my load times during save loads, fast travel and enter/exit of external/internal cells.
