How to: Re-texturing Estrus

Hi guys,

 

How could i go about re-texturing the Estrus tentacle attacker?

 

At the moment i am looking at a simple colour retexture.

 

I have looked at the original Estrus upload and got the files to look at.

 

I am not much of a modder :/

I suspect you can open the Estrus archive file and find the texture, probably a dds file.  Then using a free program like Paint.Net you could experiment.  Then replace the file and archive the folder once again.

 

Otherwise you could download this mod that already has altered the textures for the tentacles.  There are four to choose from if I remember correctly.  I've used it and it works great.
