oblivionfs Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Recently developed an issue where I cannot load most new saves. I downloaded Save game script cleaner off Nexus and found that the saves that would not load did not have a list of scripts in the left column when loaded in the script cleaner program. When trying to load these saves it will get halfway though loading then suddenly CTD. Anyone have any idea why this might be happening? (Tried to post load order but got an error that I cannot post links)
Guest Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 You need to do at least 5 posts before being able to attach a file. Usually CDT on load are because a (master) mod is missing. Do you use Loot or Mod Organizer? in this case they can tell you which mod is missing. TES5Edit can do the same job, but it is a little bit more complicated.
oblivionfs Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 I use MO. No missing masters, this is on a load order/save game with around 50 hours into it. I have some saves that will load and play just fine, but most that I make CTD. Save size averages between 17 and 19 MB. The only thing I've been able to track down is the fact that the ones that will CTD are the ones without this info in the Save Game Script Cleaner. edit. I used Loot when I originally set up my load order, but had to tweak things due to a few mods needing priority. This problem only recently appeared.
TnTTnT Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 The problematic saves always CTD? What will happen if you start new game and then load that saves or use "coc qasmoke" at main menu before load that saves?
Varithina Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Take a look here, http://www.loverslab.com/topic/56588-corrupted-saves/ Though from what I remember from it, if your save won't even load in a scrip cleaner then its pretty much buggered. Though you could try one of the other script cleaners as there are a couple of them around, and it could just be the one you are using that dose not like the save.
oblivionfs Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Just downloaded the TESV ESS and the string count is dangerously close to the max, as in 65,480 of 65,535 on saves that load in game. Loading a save I know doesn't work gives a "range check error" in the Papyrus Subsection.
