joe00242 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I'm long winded, so I put an all caps "QUESTION" next to the actual question in case you don't feel like reading all my background/explanation. So I'm new to both skyrim and modding. I apologize in advance and I hope that doesn't cast me in a negative "noob" light. I'm reading as much as I can and I'm trying what I read, if I'm reading it right, but I still have some things I'd like to have clarified so I know if I'm moving in the right direction since this is taking me so many hours to figure out and do. I installed skyrim legendary. I followed a guide I saw on reddit to prepare for modding. Of course my main goal is to get sexlabs on there and get the adult content going. That's my only care really. So I cleaned the master files up and installed SKSE, FNIS, SkyUI and all the things that each of those require to work themselves (which it seems like for every one thing one mod needs in order to work, that thing needs a couple of different things to work itself..ugh) but I've stopped because it seems it's going to be a long process before I get anywhere that works and I want to ask a question that will help me before I go further. I installed sexlabs the first time without much instruction. I added SKSE and SkyUI and about 5 sexlab mods and tested it out. The mods I installed were sexlab romance and the like. I know this isn't ideal, but I can't remember now exactly what they were but they were all sexlab stuff like romance. I started a new game and as soon as I had control, I opened the menu in game and the only thing I had visible was sexlabs and SkyUI. No romance or any other mod stuff. I figured I did it wrong so I Uninstalled everything and I've started over fresh. QUESTION(s): So that I know I'm on the right path, or at least not on the wrong path since I don't know what to expect with vanilla skyrim let alone an adult modded version - Do/will mods like romance and other sexlab mods not necessarily have their own menu when going to the mod menu in game? I was looking for the mods to show up in the game menu and when they didn't (other than the sexlabs framework and SkyUI) I just assumed I didn't do it right so I scratched hours of work to start over. If there are sexlabs mods that don't have a menu in game or any in game indication screen or whatever telling me they are working, can anyone name some of those off the top of their head so I know what to expect? I'm figuring either I have to get to a certain part in the game for romance (and mods like it) to kick in OR I should be seeing an in game menu for those and I'm not because I am installing incorrectly. I just want to play an awesome game that just so happens to have some really awesome adult content! Thank you in advance for your time.
Akzyra Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Some (minor SexLab mods and addons for other mods) don't have an MCM, but most do. MCM can take some time to register the Menus, especially when you start a new game and it has to load all of them at once. Changing location to enter a loadscreen can help to get missing menus. But if they aren't there by the time you are out of Helgen something is definitely wrong.

A Loadorder would make it easier to tell which mods dont have mcm - also how about reading the description page of said mods? If you dont then its almost certain you will get problems. Some (minor SexLab mods and addons for other mods) don't have an MCM, but most do. MCM can take some time to register the Menus, especially when you start a new game and it has to load all of them at once. Changing location to enter a loadscreen can help to get missing menus. But if they aren't there by the time you are out of Helgen something is definitely wrong. There actually is an easier way: 1. Click escape 2. open MCM 3. IMMEDIATELY tab out of the Menu That should "reset" MCM, making it search/register again and thus adding missing mod pages.
