Stumped on armor - ignore fixed

Woot never mind I fixed it.  missed an AA armor item reference in the creation kit.

Hi all, was hoping someone could help me out.

Ive been doing some very basic mucking around with an armor, just trying to modify it and save it separately to the original.

All I have done basically is remove some parts that I didn't like in Nifscope (I removed their branches), also in Nifscope I have adjusted the paths to the textures for the armor.

All seemed to be going well..

The armor looks fine in Nifscope textures are spot on (because i didn't play with them).

In the forge I can see the armor in the list of things I can make.

Its preview image in the forge is visible and can be rotated and looks fine.

I can craft the armor.

When i select the armor in the inventory the preview model is there, looks fine, no issues.

When I equip the armor .. my character is naked. not invisible body just naked, as if the mesh for the armor hasn't replaced the body mesh.

I assume that because the models are visible in the both the Forge and Inventory preview the meshes must be in the right place.  The NPC's all act as if I'm clothed, and the armor is equipped in the inventory.

anyone know what simple mistake I have made to cause this ... my poor PC feels like she is wearing the Emperors new clothes!

Thanks in advance Torkya

When you say you saved it to a new nif, did you by chance create new "armor", "armor addon", and crafting recipes (both create and temper recipes) in the esp and point the "armor addon" to the new nif file?

Did you check to make sure the new skimpy armor has all the parts set to slot 32 in the "BSDismemberSkinInstance" of each mesh in the nif (if it is to replace the body as an outfit it will usually take up slot 32).

As well as make sure that both the armor and armor addon in the esp point to slot 32?

Note: This is set in the BSDSI under Partitions (some parts may have more then one partition listed so if you are going to make it a torso only replace set all of them to slot 32)

Did you make sure the armor is set for the default race in the esp?

Note: Some armors when not set to allow a race will give you a naked body instead of an armor....sometimes you'll get a blank area like the game isn't rending it.... it is just something else to check.

Note (more notes): You could have done the deletion steps in Outfit Studio and double checked the new outfit in Nifskope afterwords.... just saying.

Thanks for the tips BringtheNoise.

I duplicated all the bits in creation kit, but when i renamed items so I could keep them separate from the originals I forgot to add the modified armor addon reference in the right spot on the armor item itself in creation kit.

As I though something really simple :)
