Texture issues

I haven't played Fo4 in about a month now, and all was working well before then. Currently, however, loading up into a save yields stuff like This and This. The only mod I've installed that changes texture so far is 2pac's skimpy, which was working when I first installed it. From the looks of it, they are all just artifacts, as they disappear more and more, the further up I am looking. I have verified the game cache, and steam told me that only two files needed replacing; the Ini files. I've been running off of a less than stellar laptop (1.9GHz i3, Intel HD 4k graphics, 8GB RAM), which hasn't changed in terms of hardware since before I installed the game.

In short, does anyone know what could be causing this, and is it possible to fix?

Thanks.

Couldn't the problem just be your waaay underpowered system choking on the game?

Your cpu is less powerful than Fallout 4's minimum requirements.. so is your non-graphic card/integrated graphics. Only your ram meets a spec requirement. So i'm kinda surprised the game runs at all.

Also it's not a texture issue per se. That looks to me more like an issue with your "graphic card". You could try updating your video drivers. It's possible one of the updates to Fallout 4 changed something which maybe doesn't work if you have old drivers? Hmm that's my guess anyway.. i'm not a complete expert.

You could try also running the game on lower-than-low graphic settings.

Since update 1.4 intel integrated graphics don't work anymore and considering they weren't supported in the first place I wouldn't hold any hope for a future patch.

I understand that my system is underpowered. I knew it was underpowered when the game came out. It is the closest I am going to be to having an actual pc for some time. If I had the money, I would go and get an actual rig, rather than a laptop that even I was surprised at what it could do sometimes. Unfortunately, I simply have no other option.

I updated the drivers when the game first came out, and, to my knowledge, they haven't updated since.

You're correct, the 1.4 patch is what appears to have broken this. I've already found a downgrade patch, only for it to cause a CTD.

I had ctd issues with patch 1.3, if that's what you're using, try 1.2 (though performance is horrible in that patch).

You could try this. Not a fix per se but the video should explain how to run Fallout 4 on a low end system that's below minimum requirements which hopefully should have the side effect of fixing your problem.

I found the cause to the CTD with the patch. Turns out I forgot to uncheck the Automatron DLC from the load order.

Glad you were able to fix it. I've had my share of frustration because of small oversights like that.

To the OP:   This is the exact same problem that I am having with my fallout 4, is there a fix for it? I'm also running an intel HD graphics card. I'm stuck with this laptop until I can hopefully get me a gaming computer for christmas/next year. I don't have the money for very expensive computer equipment.

The opening sequence and main menu run fine, but as soon as the game play actually starts, the graphics look exactly like the links you provided.

I'm currently on the path of finding a fix. So far the only thing I've managed to to after removing any texture "tearing" is to make the FPS <1. I've done so by using Dxdcpl.exe and enable the "Force WARP" option, then applying it to Fallout4.exe. I'll update this post when I find a solution to the framerate issue.
