erc1971 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 So, I launched Oblivion and despite making no changes I have a weird sound problem.... The sound works, except for 3 specific cases: 1: Once I click on an NPC to enter the dialogue box, it display's their text and their mouth moves, but I do not hear their voice. (NPC's still talk when I am walking by them however) 2: When I click on a door that takes me to a different zone, the door open sound does not play. (When I click on a door that opens but keeps me in the same zone, I heard the sound.) 3: When loot an item from a chest or corpse, it makes no sound when I take it. I made no changes to Oblivion, I even went back and restored an old backup that the sound worked on, same issue. Even started a new game in case was in the save files, did not help. Any ideas before I reinstall Oblivion? Eric
gregathit Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 When you restored from your backup.....did you replace your oblivion.ini file that is in your my games folder? Also, have you started a new game?

erc1971 Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 It is not an Oblivion problem. I deleted and re-installed vanilla Oblivion - same issue. So something with my computer is causing the issue.
