Cynical Misanthrope Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Install W7 on a laptop that has W10 on it? To make a long story short, I got a laptop earlier today, and when I got home I started to fiddle around with it. However, W10 makes me wanna throw the laptop out the window tho, so I decided to install W7 on it. BUT, It has no CD/DVD-reader (like WTF?! So, do I need to transfer W7 to a usb and make the laptop boot from that (if that is possible?), or can I somehow hijack my stationary pc's CD/DVD-reader, and install from that? Thanks in advance!
PervyPotter Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 You should be able to download Win 7 to a usb version from the Microsoft site, all you'll need is your Win 7 key, then go into the bios and make sure your laptop has boot from usb enabled. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows7

I just need to figure out how to enable the text that shows before windows loads so I know what button to press to be able to get into bios. As it is now, it just shows "Lenovo" and then it jumps straight to the Login screen!
PervyPotter Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 On most computers the DEL key is the one that takes you to the BIOS
Cynical Misanthrope Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 Yeah, I tried that, but nothing Maybe I were to fast (thats what she said )
PervyPotter Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 A quick google suggests it may be the F2 key for a Lenovo
Cynical Misanthrope Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 Cheers, I should had looked it up myself, I mean, sometimes Google is your friend But, the lack of sleep makes me slow in the head! Will try F2 then! Thanks!
