CL Piercings won't unequip, thinks PC is wearing rubber suit

Hi Community,

 

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered.  I searched the forums and didn't see any topic match.  It's not a crash so no papyrus log is relavent.  If I'm wrong and a papyrus log will help, I'll provide one.

 

The scenario goes like this:  I equip both nipple and vaginal piercings from CL (xx040615 and xx040618) on my PC.  After a bit I try to unequip them using the tool and CL refuses, claiming the PC is wearing a rubber suit.  Of course the PC is not wearing anything    I've tried all the normal console methods to reset inventory, etc. and nothing short of loading a previous save or uninstalling CL works.

 

Edit: I'm using CL 5.3 although I have noticed this behavior in previous versions.

 

Any clue out there?
