The options you get would likely depend on your GPU itself, Skyrim can support literally any resolution you set it to but if you use a resolution like 2560x1440 then it will probably start to lag or stutter when you load in a lot of mods, Since you haven't explained whether you use an AMD card or Nvidia I cannot be entirely accurate in my response, but you should be able to (if your card is new enough) enable "Virtual Super Resolution" on your GPU and then you can run Skyrim at much higher res than before, but remember this will use a ton of memory and cause massive issues with heavy load orders.

Hope this was informative enough.

Hi, I can play on 1920X1080.

Using nVidia settings I can render the game actually bigger (2560X1440) and downscale it to the actual monitor size.

I do not have a monitor with higher resolution so I never tried more than that.

Can that be set under nvidia settings ?? it will be cool to make use of higher reolustion and just downscale it back to 1600 x 1050 if that is possible.

But can you play at 1680 x 1050? Anything lower will look shitty. Higher isnt recommended because of the weak GPU.

You could manually change the skyrimprefs.ini file to your correct resolution.

go to: C:\Users\(USERNAME)\Documents\my games\Skyrim, edit the skyrimprefs.ini,

search for:

iSize H=XXXX

iSize W=XXXX

and change them to

iSize H=1050

iSize W=1680

It is inside the GeForce Experience.

Please keep in mind that my card is a GTX 980 TI at 1.1GHz

(And actually the game was rendered at 3840x2160 and then downscaled to 1920x1080, I do not use too many mods, probably just a couple of dozen, because I do only modding (creation of mods) I do not really play.)
