badtwister Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I have dragged and dropped the mods into the installer tab but I don't understand how to acitvate the mod once it is there. How do you acitvate a mod using Wyre Bash? Thanks
junkacc Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Usually it's just right click on the package and select "install". It may come with an install wizard. Those have a wand in the icon. In that case right click and select "wizard" Some come with subpackages. In that case, select which subpackages you want in the subpackages pane, then go back to the installers pane, right click and select "install"
badtwister Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 I think I must be missing a simple step. I have win zip so I have the zip file and I drag and drop that into the installer. It shows up in the folder bash installers but it doesn't show up in the wyre bash display.
Varithina Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you want to use wyrebash as your mod manager, rather than say nmm or mo?
Anatriax Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Actually using Wrye Smash (the Skyrim version of Bash) isn't a bad choice as a mod manager. I'd say it's better than NMM. Why you ask?--You can set up your file structure similar to how MO works, as far as being able to see/avoid conflicts. ie: in Smash you can see what is conflicting. What files is this mod overwriting? What files that belong to this mod are being overwritten by others, with it in it's current position in the install order. --Smash will show you missing masters and conflicts, similar to the right pane of MO.--Built in save manager? yes please. There are many more advantages to using Smash/Bash as a mod manager, too many to list. All I can say is read the readme's and see how powerful it truly is.OP: to answer your question, you will right click on the mod, and select install. If install is greyed out, the file is either packaged as a FOMod (unsupported by Wrye Smash), or not packaged properly. You may have to open it, and check the file structure beforehand. One HUGE piece of advice. ALWAYS unpack your mods before you install them (make sure there is a diamond next to them). The only exception is that if a mod uses the OMod format (Not likely at all), or if there is a want next to the square. This means that the mod has an installation wizard to make the install easier. THAT is what you run to install, instead of selecting install. Good luck. Check out the ReadMe's, and there are plenty of tutorials available out there. It's in the process of being updated, but if you post in the thread with questions, I'll get to you ASAP.
