scaled horned armor not looking right...

ok, i killed a bandit and she was wearing this weird ass looking pink armor... so took any armor she had and it was scaled horned armor... thing is, that WAS NOT scaled horned armor, so i was wondering if someone could help me change it back to normal vanilla or a sevenbase version, i just need to replace the scaled horned armor

Pink/Purple usually screams one thing: Missing texture.

 

So unless you're 109% sure the mesh itself is something different than the scaled armor, simply get a texture replacer for scaled armor. As there is nothing to replace, IF it is a missing texture, it will have a texture again (In case of a replacer, likely a better one anyway, depending on your choice).

 

aMidianBorn textures are usually excellent, here's the scaled armor if you'd like to try that.

how do i do a screenshot in game? i tried print screen/photoshop but shot, but yeah its a totally different suit, looks almost magical/mod type

Print screen is default you'll find the screenshot inside you skyrim installs main folder.

Youll have to go reinstall w/e mod you use for your vanilla armors thats def some other mod overwriting it.

I was having the same issue, and the problem was that a mod by the name of Decent into Madness changes the textures of the Scaled and Nightingale armors. Don't know why the mod author didn't say that the mod does that, but once I removed the mod the problem was fixed. (Sorry for commenting on an old post but this is one of the first pages that came up when I searched for the issue, so I figured I'd tell everyone what my problem was so that if they have the same issue they will be able to fix it easier.)
