Bluegunk Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I am SO frustrated with my Skyrim! My game CTDs on save. It goes so fast, I don't have time to blink. It leaves a TMP file in the save folder. I'm on my fourth or fifth rebuild and play, trying to get through this save CTD problem. The game runs perfectly for around 150 saves before this CTD occurs. Once it starts crashing, the game is finished. It is unusable. I've done *everything* I can think of around memory, permissions, ENB tweaks, whatever, to no avail. I am pretty familiar with mod set ups, using MO, Wrye Bash, LOOT etc. I'm running Windows 10, on a brand new machine (I had this problem on my previous PC). I have a full load order with ENB. It's heavy, but I have a powerful bit of kit and get around 60FPS most time. I've searched Google and the like for answers expecting loads of people to be making a fuss about Windows 10 werecking their saves. But Win 10 has been out a while and I can't find those frustrated masses screaming for gaming justice. Where are they? Apart from a few who have dodgy load orders and other issues (like putting Skyrim in Program Files) I can't find them. So my problem MUST be local, perhaps a mod that is corrupting my game save over time? I'm a player of habit and tend to use the same mods on each attempt, which is probably why I've had 4-5 fails. I rebuild the same game, the same mods. Please - could folks have a look at my load order? Has anyone experience of a mod (or combination of mods) that is a save killer that I am using? Nothing stands out in TESVedit, or game save cleaners. Wrye Bash is green as a pea. I cannot think what else is causing my problems. BTW - you'll see some odd ESPs that are simply mergers of armours and weapons, or simple mods. Thank you in anticipation of help! Load order attached. PS - I cannot paste stuff onto these forum message boxes (if anyone knows why do let me know). The Spoiler element does not work either. Hence the funny code box and the attachment. loadorder.txt
Guest Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 have you tried using LOOT to optimize your load order (it will say if theres any dirty esp as well)?
Bluegunk Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 Thank you. Yes I use LOOT and clean dirty mods (unless author says otherwise). I was looking on the forum for Milk Economy Mod last night and see some people have suffered CTDs on save. So I'm investigating that one further. I use the latest of each mod, and I am hoping someone will look in my load order and let me know if there is general bad experience of one or more combis of mods that could be causing my problems. Meanwhile - checking them out!
Bluegunk Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 I've now applied the kill.player console trick and got my game up and running once more and tested to destruction. I've also quadruple-checked the Milk Economy Mod and it is not causing any issues. I think for now I am sorted and OK. But I would still appreciate any feedback on potential problem mods in my load order. Thank you!
Suludi Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Maybe it's some leftover scripts from mods you removed? Try running the Save Game Script Cleaner. That thing is a miracle.
Bluegunk Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 Thanks Suludi but I don't remove stuff from my game. I learnt that the hard way! I am on a once-built-never-change play-through. I use a couple of save game cleaners anyway but all is clean and clear. I seem to have got the game running again (as mentioned above).
Antrox Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 CTD Immediately upon load? Sounds like a Skeleton problem sir.
