Strange message on Skyrim ImaItems

So I was wandering the internets and I noticed there was a new ImaItems, I caved in and took a peak at what the contents was.

 

There seems to be a message here in this particular modification from the creator:

This seems to imply that we're a bunch of thieving asshats? It seems to imply that he's absolutely enraged because of this too? I thought I might as well bring this up because I'm really confused about what's going on here and it apparently involves the community somehow.

 

These are not translations, the readme included these sections in english, and the ESP itself had it's description in english.

Machine translations are pretty crappy and can be incredibly confusing. Not sure what his/her beef is but I would not let it bother you. Who knows why he/she is upset and frankly........who cares.

I think there is feud going on between 2chen 3dm and loversloab. I know it sounds very negative. If we did do what the author claimed then he should have reported the said mod here and it would have been removed instead.

 

3dm and 2chen also takes away mods we created here and releases it there in there own forums. Those from Galgat for instance. Some of them have not even ask for permission either.

 

All mods i made translation for are actually only done because said modders made it available anyone could add there own contents or fix bugs to it or translate etc..

 

3dm uses some form of pay system before you can download a mod. Witch is also questionnable to say the least...

 

 

Besides chinese community is known to steal from japanese community allot. Lovers with pk is Japanese. they are more open in who they share there stuff too. I have never transalted any chinese mods. Only Japanese mods.

Funny, I thought 3DM did the whole cash thing for their forums, which is also slower and harder to access at times. 2-Chan is just a forum board with no such payment since I do tend to follow their threads.

My two cents: When a modder refuses to allow translation (even if in the form of a patch), it's ok to ignore them as long as you link to the original and use it as a master file, and if they take it down because of a translation patch, then I see nothing wrong at that point with sharing it.

 

I remember back in the day that occurring with some oblivion mods I briefly used, I'd used google translate to ask if there would be any official or approved translation effort of the mod, as the only one I could find seemed to be quite buggy, and instantly got banned (in addition to various racial slurs aimed at me) for asking.

The Japanese modding community, in my experience, fits into one of two categories.

One category is normal modders, with all the quirks.

The other category is extremely xenophobic, sometimes to the point of taking down and ceasing work on a mod if a single non Japanese person gets ahold of it.

 

In my personal opinion:

First category, like any modder respect their wishes in how/if you distribute anything aside from a patch that requires you first DL their mod.

Second catagory, fuck their wishes. But be polite about it until given reason to be otherwise.

Japan (I'm assuming it's a jappanese mod team, since this is big with some of them) has a history of xenophobia, which often causes modders to hate their work being used by round eyes.
