NPC into Ghost

Good day all,

 

Hello everyone, I have been away from Skyrim for a long time almost 2 years now, I'm amaze at what modders have been able to accomplish here and all over the internet. I'm pretty fond of pretty female follower, and there are a shit ton of them all around anyways.

My topic is about a project that I would like to start very soon. My favorite type of power of any RPG is necromancy, and I was fascinated from the start when they mention in the vanilla game that necromancer could trap someones soul in the soul cairn and call upon their restless soul to do their bidding later on.

That being said, I was a little sad to see that no mod attempts to do that even remotely, So I decided to try it myself, and so being a very low experience and amateur modder, I had no single idea where to start.

My fist step would be to create a spell / with a script that would create a ghost/ethereal double/clone of a targeted NPC. I have search the internet for clue on how to do that but I have found only a brief mention on how to turn an NPC into a ghost in the CK. And some other forum talk about a Ghost ability (a hidden ability activated through the console) that essentially turns the player into a ghost.

My first question is, as anyone here ever tampered/played around with that ability ?

My second question is, do you guys think this Hidden ability could be use to create a spell which would essentially turn any NPC into an ethereal/ghost form ?

 

Third question: Would it be infinitely hard to do nigh impossible? (I can learn a bit of scripting, I did a little 2 years back when I was still playing) because if so, then my back up plan was to create a Generic male and female Ghost in a robe to hide physical feature and to have it spawn for each NPC male or female targeted, but was really hoping wouldn't come to that.

However, since you said you liked the idea of being a necromancer in game, have you looked at the Undeath mod?

Yes I have, I haven't tried it yet though, can't wait to try it for myself.

So Anyone else has any suggestion on how I should proceed ?/where I should start ?

I have made an ethereal spell... rather enchanted ring for my PC (altho it works on NPC's as well)

you can just edit the ingame make ethereal spell to and enchantment.

 

I use it to let my followers do all the work while dungeon crawling and i just stand there (but not take damage).
