The warning I get is basically: "FNIS cannot do stuff/generate from a legal Steam installation. If you have SKSE and run Skyrim once through Steam... this will apparently solve everything." I have SKSE. I started Skyrim through Steam. FNIS lied. Am I missing something? And I'm not good with a ton of acronyms, just FYI for future replies. :-) Thanks for your time. manserpent Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Did you start it through the official Launcher or SKSE for Steam? it has to be the official Skyrim Launcher, that's for sure.

srayesmanll Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Just for your knowledge, launching the game directly through steam creates information in the machines registry the FNIS is looking for, that why the launch through steam is required (only once, just launch then quit at the menu).

maskacroi Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 To be honest, I'm also afraid of FNIS derping out or me being overly paranoid about FNIS's lingo. The phrase "legal installation directory" kinda scares me. I legally have the game and just got it on Steam (Legendary Edition for 40 bucks) this morning and have the bank statement to prove it. Anyone think this is this a Steam installation thing or most likely operator error on my part? Sorry, I'm new at modding this and there are some terms in the Help Topic that I'm a bit lost with. Thanks for your patience. ;-) Figured it out: It's a problem with my registry. I'm gonna have to wipe it clean and start from scratch. I do hope it had nothing to do with what happened today. When I charged Skyrim to my card on steam, Steam told me the card was declined. Yet I look at my bank statement and it was charged. Skyrim started installing despite that strange occurance. :/
