Nifskope & Textures

Ok I have some hairstyles that I wanted to tinker with in Nifskope, but I cant seem to apply/import the dds files onto the mesh. All I get when clicking on the nitrishape (or the model itself) is an export and edit uv - or something like that - option.

How do I do this?

The textures show up down below, you cannot get them from right clicking on the mesh.

First, from the View menu of NifSkope, make sure that you have selected Block List -> Show Blocks in Tree

Then click on the mesh you want, to select it.

Then open the "NiTriShape" (or "NiTriStrips") node on the left, and under that open the "BSLightingShaderProperty" node, and then under that select the "BSShaderTextureSet" node.

Then, go down to the bottom and open "Textures", you should now see a list of 9 texture options. The first one is probably the dds file you want, the second is the normal map, and so on, most of these will usually be blank.

If you want to change one of them, click on the lavender flower immediately left of the texture file name, this will pop up a file selector.

You can also double click on the file name itself if you just want to edit it in text form (or if you want to copy it using control-C).
