Z0mBieP00Nani Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Two things, I fucked up and saved over my Skyrim and SkyrimPrefs ini files without making a back up save, and now I keep getting these ugly black diagonal and horizontal lines across everything that fade and disappear as I get closer to them. I looked up the issue online but nothing seems to make them go away. The other issue I'm having (I'm pretty sure) is related to the ENB I have installed, whenever I look at a fire pit in Whiterun and it is against the day time sky I get this black shadow around it (see picture). I'm using Seasons of Skyrim ENB with the performance settings from Real Vision ENB, and I'm running ELFX 2.0 (which is supposedly not as resource intensive as previous versions). Any advice would be appreciated.
Guest Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 If it were me I'd be clearing out all ENB files and generating new ini files. I've had verifiable issues with lighting settings from mods that were uninstalled getting baked into my saves, so having cleared out and refreshed inis, start a new game to test.

Well, I guess I got lucky then, because after hours of tweaking things I managed to get everything looking the way I wanted with a noticeable frame rate boost, I'm now averaging about 25-40 frames in most areas where before I was getting maybe 16-25 frames.. not sure how I did that exactly but... It turns out the shadow striping issue was being caused by some settings in the enbseries.ini file under "SHADOWS", all I did to fix it was copy the settings from another enbseries.ini that I liked without the shadow striping issues and paste them over the settings in the file that I'm currently using. I'm still not sure about the other issue though, maybe something to do with the way the "ELFXEnhancer" plays with the lighting when an ENB is installed?.. I don't know. I tried installing a mod that turns out lights during the day to help with the issue, but it's only partially compatible with ELFX so I get some weird floating lanterns in some places, and fire pits that won't go out. Anyway thanks for the advice.
