Solitude Men's Club

NOTE: I consider this mod completed. I have no plans to make further changes, other than fixing any bugs which may be reported.

Backstory
The Solitude Men's Club was founded by King Mantiarco, husband of Potema. While outwardly, he was a devoted husband, in reality he preferred the company of other men. And so he created a place where he, and others like him, could meet and enjoy one another's company. In order to maintain discretion for all involved, the place had a very modest entryway, with no signage, leading most to believe that it was a wine cellar, or something similar.

On his death, he was unable to provide for the upkeep of the club, so in order to keep running, the club had to start changing membership fees. And this allowed it to survive. The club still exists, with the same nondescript entrace on a side alleyway. But inside, a lavish setting makes men of all backgrounds welcome, and allows them to freely express their sexuality.

NOTE: I consider this mod completed. I have no plans to make further changes, other than fixing any bugs which may be reported.

What This Is
This mod adds a club in Solitude. The entrance is located on the slope leading to the Blue Palace, on the right. The doorway faces the side door of Erikur's house. You enter the foyer of the club, and will not be able to go further until you purchase membership, which has a one time cost of 500 septims.

Once you have joined, you gain access to the club proper, where naked men lounge around, enjoying the pool, and the food available - and one another's company and bodies. Optionally, (male) vanilla NPCs can also visit the club.

Some time after joining (2-5 days), the courier will deliver an invitation to assume the role of club manager. If you accept, this gives you a small room to call you own, with a double bed, and basic storage for clothing, etc. You also get access to the basement, which has all crafting equipment, as well as a dungeon area with animals for a different kind of "play".

The MCM
This mod has an MCM which allows you to configure a variety of options. Most become available only when you join the club, or later become the manager, as applicable.

After initially installing the mod, start Skyrim, open the MCM then close it again, and wait for SkyUI to say that it has registered the new menu. Then open the MCM again, and scroll down to Solitude Men's Club.

Add-Ons
As of version 1.3, Solitude Men's Club can have (optional) add-on mods. These are essentially other clubs which use the resources within SMC, and make use of the membership/manager system, and random sex with NPCs, etc. The MCM controls functions at these other clubs as well. Eg, number of bathers setting applies to all. Naturally, settings which don't apply are ignored.

  • Windhelm Men's Club: located outside the city proper, between Brandy-Mug and Hlaalu Farms. You won't have access to the baths unless you are a member of the SMC; once you become manager, you are able to use the bed in the upper section (inn) of the Windhelm club. No animals here, but there are up to 12 bathers available, and vanilla NPCs can visit (both are set via MCM).
  • Riften Men's Club: Located beyond the south gate of Riften, just before Snow-Shod Farm. Unlike the Windhelm club, this has a very short introductory quest, which starts at the Solitude club. Once you have become manager, the quest kicks off. The Riften club has animals available (optional, via MCM), but here they are "basic": dogs, huskies, horses, bears.

Note: Add-ons cannot be used by themselves; they require that Solitude Men's Club be loaded, as they use resources and scripts from that mod.

Men's Clubs Merged
If you want all three clubs in a single mod, then get Men's Clubs Merged instead of the 3 separate ones. I've done minimal testing of this, so hopefully it works. The file is hosted on DropBox, due to its size; use the Mirrors link on the d/l page.

Required
This mod requires all the ones below - along with their requirements.

Recommended

Conflicts
Anything that changes the earthworks on the right side of the hill leading to the Blue Palace (next to Erikur's house, side door). Legacy of the Dragonborn definitely conflicts, for example, as does Solitude Public Bathhouse. It also won't work with OpenCities, as that moves Solitude into the Tamriel worldspace.

For the Windhelm club, anything which edits the space between Brandy-Mug and Hlaalu Farms.

For the Riften club, anything which edits the space that the club occupies, ie, between Riften south gate and Snow-Shod Farm, on the side of the lake.

Updating
Since most updates make changes to scripts which are likely in your save, you will either need to start a new game, or clean your save. To update mid-game:

  • If your character is in the club or any cell chanegd by the club, move it elsewhere. Be sure to empty any chests you may have filled, and to take any followers with you. Save and quit Skyrim.
  • Remove the current version of Solitude Men's Club (SMC) from your Skyrim folder.
  • Start Skyrim, click Ok when it says there is stuff missing.
  • Make a new save, exit the game.
  • Run Save Game Cleaner on that last save.
  • Install the most recent version of SMC.
  • Start Skyrim, load the cleaned save.
  • You will have to start the SMC quest over.

Notes
Don't change the number of bathers while sex acts are in progress. Results are unpredictable. Instead, disable sex interaction in the MCM first, then make sure no sex is happening. Only then should you change the number of bathers.

Stealing items from inside the club, or attacking any of the club residents (attendants, bathers), will be treated as a crime. Becoming a club member will allow you to take some of the items; becoming manager will give access to more. Patience.

There is no navmesh on the stairs down to the basement - by design. This to prevent the club NPCs from wandering down there, needlessly. So followers won't be able to go there either, unless they TP to you once you're there.

The artwork on the MCM and the paintings in the club, is all my own, and thus under copyright. I do not grant permission for its use elsewhere.

I get CTD when launching as soon as it reaches logo.

Same reply I gave on the other thread where you asked. ;)

Most likely, you're missing a required mod. It needs all the ones listed on the d/l page, plus all their requirements.

I've been having similar problems for the past 2 weeks. I even completely reinstalled Skyrim this week but I still managed to break it somehow.

Loot and TES5Edit show no problems, all should be fine, but the game crashes after the Bethesda logo video or seconds after starting a new game. and there is nothing in the logs after the crash.

All such problems started with the NMM update to 0.6 as far as I can see. It does not completely install/uninstall a mod leaving some of the files behind. There are 2 situations where at the moment I'm sure NMM breaks the game in such ways:

1. NMM crashes while installing/uninstalling. This means some of the files were not correctly handled. More confusing is that after restart the mod is shown with the correct status. When MNN crashes remember which mod was it dealing with at that moment and then reinstall it again regardless if NMM thinks it is OK.

2. Switching profiles - NMM is not good at it. They have released a lot of updates, but NMM will still f**k-up your game if you switch profiles  too much. The worst is when it crashes when switching that leaves you with broken profiles and I haven't found a way to deal with this. My solution from now on is to not use profiles at all for some time until NMM gets more stable. I used profiles to switch between SOS and SAM and the result was that I was spending more time fixing the game than playing.

One more thing I'm starting to do from now on - with mods that have requirements that have requirements themselves you end-up installing lots of mods in one go. And then it is way harder to find out which mod exactly is causing a problem. A good rule would be to install the new mods in small groups and play the game for some time (and fast travel a lot to see if it crashes on a specific place/city) in order to be sure that they work. And then install the next group. This is especially true wjen a mod requires DD or HDT.

Course another solution is to not use a mod manager at all. That forces you to understand load order, and the order in which things need to be installed so that they work correctly. :-D

How I missed this one?! Wow, really nice work (men's club with bathes that's just how I love it! lol), I installed this mod yesterday and I love it! I just deleted those Pierced Ears mod from your esp (outfit section) becasue I'm using some other earrings with HDT so I will give them those instead  :dodgy:

Anyway, thank you for your work and for sharing!

How about an option in the mcm menu where you can replace the club's staff with custom followers regardless the genre and allow both mail and female to visit the club.In this way, this mod could become a gem for any players regardless their sexual preferance!

You can bring followers in at any time. Reduce the bathers to minimum, if you like. as for allowing female NPC, that would go against the name of the club. ;)

1.1 is up. A compromise with Peter's requests. ;-) Bathers can now be reduced to zero, so you can fill the place with women if you like - except the two attendants, who are required for the quests to join and become manager. Also, the code no longer excludes women when checking for NPCs who are available for sex.

However, visiting (vanilla) NPCs remain male only. This because they are selected in such a way as to (hopefully) not break any quests. In other words, the list of possible visitors is hard coded. OK, except for a few random guards, but that's a fraction of the total. Otoh, visitors can be disabled. :)

Considering that there's no lack of female mods on the internet for Skyrim, and very few M-M mods, I wouldn't change a thing. Straight people aren't exactly hurting for content.

Also true. ;) Anyway, I think the small changes I made are ok. Doesn't hurt the mod at all for gay players, and does open it up some for straight men. That said, there is now no filter when the mod scans for sex partners, so, yeah, straight guys could wind up with one of the bath attendants. ;)

There seems to be having a problem. When i run SUM (Skyproc unified manager) through mod organizer,it tells me that i have missing master (the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch) despite having it installed and activated. Is there a chance you could look the latest uploaded version if there is something fishy?

I think it's because this mod have wrongly reordered it's plugins master list.

Just wanted to say what a nice job you did with this one. The design of the club is beautiful. Also, seeing the art I finally connected your user name with who you are. I remember your poser stuff from ages ago. Always admired your work. (You inspired me to learn to drape dynamic clothing, many years ago, so there's that.) The art works really well in the club setting.

One of your skyproc programs is using outdated code, which throws an error for the Unofficial Patch. I use SUM for Automatic Variants and Dual Sheath Redux, both of which were updated, and no longer get the "Missing Master" error. It has nothing to do with any non-Skyproc programs.

There are two ways around it:

1. Figure out which skyproccer is throwing the error, try to update it, message its creator if it hasn't been updated in a while.

2. Use TES5Edit to make a temporary edit to USLEEP, run your SUM, and then change back to the unedited USLEEP. There are tutorials for doing this all over the place. It's not hard to do, and really easy if you use a mod manager to reinstall the unaltered USLEEP after you patch.

Very glad you like the mod! And yeah, that's me from way back. ;) I lost interest in Poser when I realized I was basically doing the same pictures over and over again, with minimal variations. So, all this time later, I am making new things in a different platform. :)

Okay, here it is, step by step. The most important thing is to keep an unaltered copy of USLEEP ready to install.

1.  Load USLEEP into TES5Edit.

2.  Click the + to expand USLEEP into its categories.

3.  Highlight "Cells" in the left-hand pane.

4.  Press "Delete" on your keyboard. Click the go-ahead on the warning that pops up.

5.  Close TES5Edit, allowing it to save your changes to USLEEP.

6.  Run SUM, let it finish patching.

7.  Reinstall USLEEP to undo your changes to the file. THIS IS IMPORTANT. YOU DO NOT WANT TO LOAD YOUR GAME WITH USLEEP MISSING ITS CELL DATA.

This information comes directly from the Unofficial Patch threads from when this error first started popping up. From what I understand, it's actually Java causing this error, and SkyProc patchers have to be updated with the new Java code to work. Some of them have been updated (Automatic Variants, and Dual Sheath Redux, for example), but some haven't because their creators haven't logged on in forever.

Having an issue with the critters in the basement. I can't interact with any of them except the werewolf and the death hound. I presume all of them are supposed to have dialogues that allow you to have sex with them, but none of them do.

I suspect this is the same issue I had back with the original Isle of Mara. By default in Skyrim critters cannot engage in dialogue with players. Some people appear to use some mod that allows this, a mod I clearly don't have. No activator shows up at all for these.

NB - This isn't a creature sex issue, no problems sexxing any critter in the game using Untamed or your critters (that I can speak with) via the dialogue. It's an 'activator for the dialogue isn't showing up' issue. [see image 2 where my crosshair is on the critter, but no option to interact appears.]

You don't see the activation message, no. But if you get your crosshairs over them, and press 'E', it does work.

I really enjoy this mod. The guys at the club are great and the place looks beautiful.\

However, I am having a problem which is this:

After visiting the club several days ago, I started having CTDs about one minute after I load my game. It happens no matter what cell I'm in. If I disable the Solutide mens club esp, then the CTDs go away. If I re-enable it, I get CTDs regardless of my player location. So, it really appears that this mod (possibly in combination with another mod?) seems to be causing my game to crash even when I'm not at the club.

A guess (possible wrong) is this: It has something to do with courier quest. This happening within the right time frame for it.

Very glad you like! :)

Hum, no clue on the crashes. You're also, thus far, the only one to have reported this.

I imagine you've become a member of the club, and are now waiting for the courier to deliver the note? If so, that's one line of code which just says "wait so many hours before doing anything else". Once the wait is done, it is two lines to get the courier on his way looking for you. So the only thing I can think of is a mod conflict of some kind. Do you have anything installed that touches the courier?

I think I might have figured out the issue:

In order to install this mod, I had to switch from the old single unofficial patches to the legendary one.

Well I did that, and everything seemed fine. Later, I used to savetool to clean out old scripts. I just discovered that someone has posted this on the savetool board:

"The Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch (USLEEP) is now out and replaces the individual patches like the USKP, etc. People are reporting that after 'upgrading' to USLEEP that they are seeing many orphaned scripts. I had 196. According to the authors of USLEEP, these are false positives and should NOT be cleaned."

The short of it is this: It looks like I screwed up my save by cleaning these scripts. It's likely that the CTDs had nothing to do with the Solitude men's club, but rather a loss of necessary USLEEP scripts.

Ack!  Wow, I wasn't aware of that. I swapped over to USLEEP at a point when I was starting a new game, so saves were moot for me.

Sorry about your issue though.
