WCSC Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I'm wondering if anyone can explain to me as a retard how to understand what all the CBBE, UNP and others are, mixed in with FNIS & XP32, then with mody sliders/presets then mixing in races to install When I go to install a mod like say, the temptress or Lunari, they seem to be different types, CBBE or UNP or others. When I go to install using a something like NExus, it askes me if I want to overwrite certain files and sometimes characters go T shaped and I have to install the XP32 again to correct and overwrite something back. How do I know what to overwrite and NOT overwrite? Do I only stick with some things that are CBBE and some that are UNP, and others? I'm trying to find where characters look nice but the followers (mods) always seem to look better than my character, so how do I get one to look jast as good as the followers where their somewhat textured, have some defintiion and boobs mover naturally and not look like a plastic maniquin? The best i can get a chracter is by using a race mod, but the followers someone else made liek the lunari 6 look more natural I guess I'd like to get an explanation perhaps on understanding all the adds and mods and maybe I'm mixing in stuff I should not to achieve what other have done in what I see with followers. Thanks
Kelthos Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 This will take a long winded answer that can be answered with a little more research but I can give a brief on a few of your concerns. When selecting what body type you want (CBBE, UNP, etc) You'll want to download armor mods that go with that type and so your skin textures and meshes match. The main thing I think you need to know is that when you put on a main armor piece the game is swapping the entire body not just the outfit. Thats why its important to use the same body types or convert your own because technically you can be using say a CBBE body and equip a UNP armor, but the swap will happen and you'll see a different body type, not to mention your skin texture wont match. As for the "T-Pose" this happens when you install a new animation and didn't run FNIS. FNIS needs to be updated everytime you install or uninstall any animation.
WCSC Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 Thank you Kelthos, that gives me a better understanding Is TBBP something different?
Guest Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 FNIS is the animation framework created by Fore which makes adding new animations to Skyrim possible because unlike in Oblivion you can't just add them straight to the game. XP32 or the newer XPMSE is simply a skeleton with several (a real fucking lot of) extra bones required by a lot of mods. If you don't have that skeleton a lot of outfits will simply crash your game. When it comes to character faces I can only give you one advice: practice. ECE or RaceMenu help a lot with customisation options but creating a decent looking character simply takes a lot of time, practice and dedication (possibly also reference images), there is no real shortcut. The plastic look is simply due to the texture you're using. For a realistic look I'd recommend Real Girls (you'll need the normal maps aka femalehead_msn, femalebody_msn, femalehands_msn from other textures), Mature Skin or SRG Female Textures. For smoother, less realistic but still high res textures the go-to are normally SG Female Textures Renewal or Fair Skin.
