Zerosleepless Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I'm having this weird issue where the shadows are all striped and stringy , I've seen many people have this . I don't care much when it happens in environments , but what pisses me off is when it happens to my char while i'm trying to take screenies. Not only do the shadows look odd , they also are cast in weird places and tend to cloud the eyes, i literally cannot get decent pics unless i stand directly in front of a light source. here's an example :
Guest Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Looks like a Normal Map problem. But just from your description is hard to tell if this can be the cause.
Ky Kiske Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Shadows in Skyrim are a pain in the ass, may be because of bad setting of iblurdeferredshadowmask and stuff, also that shadow distance the lower is set the best quality you get, anyways here is a list of values you should look for your inis and tweak them to your taste (don't forget to backup first): Btw this are my values they may or may not work for you. Skyrim.ini[Display]fShadowLODMaxStartFade=1000.0iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096SkyrimPrefs.ini[Display]iBlurDeferredShadowMask=8fInteriorShadowDistance=2000.0000fShadowDistance=8000.0000iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=4096iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096iShadowSplitCount=2iShadowMode=3iShadowMapResolution=4096fShadowBiasScale=0.1500iShadowMaskQuarter=4iShadowFilter=3
