How come people posting screenshots have green grass while I am stuck with red / brown grass?

And here is mine:

The only grass mod I have is Skyrim Flora Overhaul and did not find any green grass option in that.

it's not the same textures

weather mods, lighting mods, and enb change the result too

I have RealVision ENB, I want my game to look all summury and bright.

I will get the grass for now.

If I'm not mistaken, you'd also need to tweak the grass settings in your INI file to make the grass denser.

Thanks guys, I have green grass now but,

How do I load grass at longer distances? Like in my screenshot you can see the terrain tooks like shit far away.

Any way I can load the grass way far away but not anything else so that my game doesn't start lagging.

I don't have that kind of grass, but I have these in my INIs specifically for grass (some stuff are commented out). Try to tweak these first, especially the ones in SkyrimPrefs. There might be more though, so refer to a proper explanation of Skyrim INI configuration.

Skyrim.ini

[Grass]

bAllowCreateGrass=1

bAllowLoadGrass=0

;Note: Experimental->

bDrawShaderGrass=1

;<- Note: Experimental

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

;;;; Note:

;;;;

;;;; - The two values are for Skyrim Flora Overhaul (SFO).

;;;; - Both values can be commented out or deleted if SFO isn't used.

;;;; - 'Texure' in iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure isn't misspelled!

;;;;

;;;; Note on Usage:

;;;;

;;;; - For more types of grass increase the iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure value

;;;; (default is 6 or 7 for SFO)

;;;; - For better performance increase the iMinGrassSize value

;;;; (40 or more, default=20)

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

; iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=7

; iMinGrassSize=40

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

SkyrimPrefs.ini

[Grass]

b30GrassVS=1

fGrassStartFadeDistance=6000.0000

fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=7000.0000

fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0.0000

Start by creating the settings for "Ultra" using the launcher and then increase the fade distance in the settings above. For instance fGrassStartFadeDistance determines how long it takes before the grass starts to fade from your view etc.

Hey guys, before the distance I would like to change the colour of the grass.

I am actually colour blind. So I am not sure if this the same green that is in the screenshots.

Can someone help me here?

Please check the screenshots and tell me.

I am using Skyrim Flora Overhaul + Verant.

Is there any other mod that can give me even more greener grass?

Enhanced Landscapes has an option to excahnge the fields of whiterun (and the surroundings) with 'green fields' (lots of normal grass). Compatable with Verdant too

Grass Settings from Verdant
Skyrim.ini:
[Grass]
iGrassCellRadius=2
bAllowCreateGrass=1
bAllowLoadGrass=0
bGrassPointLighting=1
b30GrassVS=0
iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=15
iMinGrassSize=70

Skyrimprefs.ini
[Grass]
b30GrassVS=0
fGrassStartFadeDistance=9000.0000
fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=9000.0000
fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=400.0000

That's the Skyrim.ini, and Skyrimprefs.ini tweaks listed on the main page of Verdant. They can be tweaked more, but this may be more of a drain on framerate, espeically in grassy areas.

Thanks man, this solves almost everything.

But is is possible to change grass everywhere and not just around those two locations?

Although parts are included in the Enhanced landscapes mod, by Acceq, one of his older mods, like Summer or Spring Overhaul would do exactly what you propose. Verdant + Enchanced Landscapes would only change the southern, and mid sections of Skyrim, the north would still be mostly wintery. The Summer Overhaul would make it all summery. This would have some imcompatabiites with some texture mods etc though. (can't seem to locate the older sping overhaul, hopefull summer should be suitable).

Hope that helps.

Glad to be of some help.

Just note the tweaks etc listed on that link if you have any issues. (like only having clear skies, no weather mods compatable, though suggests its fixable with TES5Edit)

Either copy them to a word document, or prnt scrn them, in case something happens to the source website.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind but there are no issues so far. :)
