Easiest way to test a fresh Skyrim + Sexlab installation?

Hi, I tried installing Sexlab and its dependencies yesterday, with the Defeat mod, but wasn't able to get any of the new animations to work. I tried to install several other mods along the way, but also failed.

Now, I've installed a fresh copy of Skyrim, with ONLY the following mods:

FNIS Behavior 5.5

FNIS Behavior 5.5 Fix 1

FNIS Creature Pack 5.3 Beta

SexLab Framework 1.6.0 Hotfix 2

SkyUI 5.1

I want to verify that everything up to this point is correct, since it's the foundation on which I'll install other mods. How would you recommend I do this? Is there a single mod I could install which has no other requirements, aside from the ones I've already installed? Ideally, that mod wouldn't require a new game, or lots of play time to prove its functionality.

Thanks!

  • Install Matchmaker
  • Use the spell against a valid NPC (NPC that should work).
  • Works = Installed correctly / Not work = Installed incorrectly.

Perfect! Thank you ritualclarity!

Update: animations and sounds are working! When the characters strip down, they still have underwear, as if armor had been removed. Should the characters actually be naked, or would that require other mods?

Update2: I'm still new to SexLab. I found the MCM SexLab option to use nude animations, but turning that on makes the involved characters have invisible bodies with visible hands, feet, and head. Did I install SexLab itself wrong, or is that a hook for some other mod that I still need to install?

Thanks again!

I haven't used the currently distributed version of Sexlab. However there was  a box to check for "nude" option in the MCM. Not sure where it was or if it is still there. The long story made short. It is preferable to use other mods to get the nude females and erect males. I believe there is a listing of the suggested mods in Ashal's OP for Sexlab (Official) or perhaps just post in the most current thread for suggestion on best body. I used UNP (I believe) and SOS (found here) it was simple enough, haven't tried CBBP or whatever the other body is or body slide. It is more advanced and higher chances of making a mistake. I believe you just want to get your "Sex" on as soon as possible. Keep it simple get playing and when more time and energy (and experience) is available revisit the better bodies (bouncing boobies etc) Make a few more changes. etc.

It didn't do it for me before but I used the 1.59c version not the most current one. Ashal might have done some changes. Perhaps post for a better body anyway in the Sexlab thread if you can't find the suggestion in the OP. Make sure you request an easy install one first.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I'm on the right track now.

Yes and no. I want to be able to make changes to my mod setup and be confident that those changes work, so I want to be able to test them out on the way. Several mods I would like to try each have several requirements, which themselves may have other requirements, so I'd like to iteratively add things, making sure each works before adding 10 more.

You've been a big help. Cheers!

MO is awesome on that feature. It will allow Profiles and keep the mods clean.

YOu can install and uninstall the mods through your preferred mod manager like NMM but sometimes things get glitched when removing a mod and installing a mod. I usually installed all the mods I wanted into FOMM/NMM(the brief time I used it) and then uninstalled the mods when I needed changes and then just went through and installed them one by one in proper order again. Mods I want to overwrite others would be loaded after those mods of course. This helped keep things clean. Every once in a while I would create a clean "data" folder by deleting the folder, installing the SKSE again (NVSE for FNV etc) then using Steam to re-validate the folder over night. Then go to my NMM/ FOMM and install the mods again. If the folders are kept separate or you keep them during deletion of the Data folder you shouldn't take much time to create a nice clean new install and game to try other mods.

The rest is experiences. Before mod managers I would put a prefix on the front of my mods to indicate which one got installed first, second, etc. Multi-mod setups would end up with #letter combination. 001A, 001B, 001C, 002, 003, 004a, 004b etc.
