Mud Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Is it possible to make it so that equipping a certain item will hide specific parts of another worn item? For example, an outfit that comes with its own underwear, but also has a separate underwear variant item that hides the original underwear when worn, or a skirt that hides underwear when worn. I tried to do this by setting the part I wanted hidden to use the same biped slot as the standalone item, and setting the standalone item's ArmorAddon's priority higher than the base outfit's priority, but it seems as though which item wins the conflict is completely random each time I load the game. Either the standalone item is displaying as intended and hiding the part I wanted hidden, or the standalone item is not visible at all and the base outfit is visible in its entirety.

If I understood correctly, There is an option of making Bodyslide files for the armor/outfit/clothes/underwear you want and make zap sliders(these sliders can hide/unhide certain pieces of the outfit you want).
Mud Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 That could be done if I made variants of the outfit itself, but I'm talking about having an outfit, which contains multiple parts, and some parts can be hidden by equipping a separate item, such as in my example of equipping an underwear item to replace the default underwear.
merryMalfunctioning Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 If the armor has multiple parts, you can assign pieces to different body slots. Then, any item you wear which occupies that slot will replace that portion of the armor. You can see this happening if you use LSAR. Some of the LSAR armors have components on the forearm and calf slots. They disappear if you wear bracers, long gloves, thigh boots, etc. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/5564/? Nifskope can help you out with this. That could be done if I made variants of the outfit itself, but I'm talking about having an outfit, which contains multiple parts, and some parts can be hidden by equipping a separate item, such as in my example of equipping an underwear item to replace the default underwear. LSAR also does the exact thing that you're talking about with underwear. The armors all have default underwear, and you can craft your own underwear that replaces it.
Mud Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 Strange. So if it is possible, why does it sometimes fail to work on loading my save? I could have it working fine, save, and reload the save and the item that was supposed to replace the underwear isn't working anymore. I have the standalone item and the part to be hidden set to slot 49, while the rest of the outfit is the usual body slot. It only works some of the time.
merryMalfunctioning Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I'm not sure... but I do know that when when you load a savegame with LSAR, everyone's armor disappears for half a second and then reappears. Based on what you've described, I'd guess that LSAR is re-equipping everyone's armor in order to correct this exact problem. The hard part with LSAR is that it uses an SKSE plugin, and it doesn't include the sourcecode for its scripts or for the plugin. So it's hard to figure out what LSAR is actually doing.

Mud Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 Well, I originally had the extra piece set to priority 6 to the main outfit's 5. I took a look at the LSAR esp and thought I'd emulate the LSAR underwear's 20 priority, but no dice. It's still seemingly randomly deciding which one takes priority on load. Googling seems to only run into people experiencing the same problem with no mention of a fix, so I guess making separate variants of the outfit is the only reliable option.
yatol Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 /facepalm that's what i use bodychange only have sbp 30, equipping an armor, glove or whatever won't remove it if i equip an iron armor, dagonbone boots, or gauldur amulet, it's invisible, because game load sbp_32,33,34... from bodychange
