KristyllLascivicious Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 hey LL, Back for more noob questions! I previously had some struggles in the past regarding getting oily skin on regular CBBE bodyslide bodies, but eventually figured it out. It seems bodyslide generates the bodies into the default CBBE meshes file location when used this way. I've since moved on to UUNP, and love the design and body, but am currently really struggling with editing the proper nifs to give the bodies gloss; every nif I seem to try and modify doesn't appear to be the one actually used by the game. So my question is, how should I be generating the bodies/where do they actually end up, since modifying them in overwrite does nothing, and the filepath coming from bodyslide seems incorrect, as it seems copies of the nifs get placed in CalienteTools overwrite space, which is not the right directory to be referenced/used. So, should I be installing the CBBE mod to get the proper file directories, as the nifs that would be generated would still be of the UUNP type? Do I need some other UNP body mod/will bodyslide build the bodies correctly in these directories? I'd like some info on how some people have made their setup successful, or if I might be missing anything. I only had Bodyslide and Fair Skin Complexion installed, as the post on Bodyslide states you just need a skin texture mod with it. I hope someone knows where I may be going wrong or how to resolve this. Thanks!
Jimcarry Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Whenever I use bodyslide, my body generates in: "Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets". Do you have that file path in your meshes folder? Edit: I don't use mod organizer.
KristyllLascivicious Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 Right, and without MO, that is where it generates to. Additionally, bodyslide generates the nifs to CBBE's mod directory with the same location *only* when CBBE is installed. Otherwise, it seems to put them in CalienteTools, which obviously isn't right.
Mizu Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 -have wet looking skin installed -edit the Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets femalebody 0 and 1 nif files (or from custom race folders) -should work,, and my body nif shows a NiTriShape 2 and 9 subfolders. double check that you have edited the "right glossines values on the NiTriShape" -BsLightin... only editing the wrong one could lead to the missing oily effect
KristyllLascivicious Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 Yea, I figured it out. Something was wrong with my installation of my mods or something. I copied my downloads and nuked MO and it works fine now. As to why it happened, I don't have the slightest idea.
Akzyra Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 MO works just that way. If you override a file (saving with Bodyslide) it replaces the file in the winning mod. In your case CBBE. (Overwrite if completely new) You can set a custom Directory that gets treated like "Skyrim/Data". But you need to have some textures in it if you want to see textures in Bodyslide (For armors the same, no impact on generation). I have set it up like this: "Mod Organizer\mods\Bodyslide Output".
