Mud Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 With my current install, I've went without a lighting mod as the ENBs I've been trying out stated they were designed for use with either no lighting mods or their own lighting. However, Dreamer ENB (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/66465/?) was recommended for performance, and while I like the promise of high performance and the color balance outdoors, interior lighting leaves a lot to be desired, especially with the particularly ugly cave lighting. So now I need a lighting mod again. Previously, I used ELFX, and liked it well enough, but it had a tendency to make things too dark and its mesh and location edits needed a lot of compatibility patches. So I'd like to ask, what lighting mods are there besides ELFX and RLO, and among them which gives the best "warm" lighting indoors?
gvman3670 Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Relighting Skyrim. It's more performance friendly than ELFX and the interiors are condiserably brighter. So much brighter I've had to adjust Imaginator (I use I Can't BElieve It's NOT ENB). Not sure about it needing compatibility patches, but I don't think it needs any...I'm not using any.
Guest Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I like warm lighting. Seasons of Skyrim HD6 Tribute ENB has very cosy interiors but manages to have pretty good colour balance overall. Like gvman I'd recommend Relighting Skyrim along with ELE Lite. That combo does some really cool tricks with existing light but does tend to be brighter than ELFX because it doesn't subtract anything or shift things around, it handles vanilla light placement logically, brightness level and the overall colour tone will depend on how many light sources there are, what they are, and what sort of location you're in. Bleak Falls Barrow and Pinewatch are good places to check out how it handles things. Bronze tunes his ENB's around a minimum brightness setting, that helps mitigate the effect of excessive lighting.
