DupaStupid Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 So I been seeing ENB needed for some mods. Do I have to use the out dated version that the mod says or can I use the latest version?
Anatriax Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 O.o plugins that require ENB? Doubtful. SUGGESTED, maybe, but require? What mods are you talking about?
DupaStupid Posted August 14, 2015 Author Posted August 14, 2015 http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30936/? Says for enb version .279, but there are newer versions of enb.
Osscollettss Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 May be that? http://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.htm
DupaStupid Posted August 14, 2015 Author Posted August 14, 2015 Maybe it wasn't that mod then... I remember seeing a mod that need v1.something. My question is, if a mod requires an older version of enb will it still work with the newer version?
Akzyra Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 I am interested why you say that ENB is outdated. And if a preset recommends a specific version you should use it. Especially when it is an older ENB Preset. If the version on the preset is just a bit older than the newest ENB it shouldn't be a big difference.
DupaStupid Posted August 14, 2015 Author Posted August 14, 2015 Thank you. Its been awhile since I looked at ENB stuff, but remember a mod needing an older version.
Anatriax Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Realvision ENB isn't a mod. It's an ENB preset.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 ENBs are either made using the vanilla elements, or built for a specific atmospheric mod. Not all ENB work well with atmospheric mods because it may make the overlay look too bright or too dark making it unbalance and require tweaking the ENB. Mods never should tell you it requires an ENB to use. It's the other way around. An ENB preset may be built of a certain mod and the mod becomes a requirement for that ENB preset. Simply because ENBs are and always should be an option. Not a requirement. An ENB can only be a recommendation.
DupaStupid Posted August 14, 2015 Author Posted August 14, 2015 Thank you. So I installed skse, skyui, fnis, unoffical patches, then the enb download from the enb website. Loaded the game with no errors. Now can I add on mods that use enb? What would be a good single mod that redoes the lighting, storms, and textures? Or should I just piece this together with different mods?

ENB uses mods. I thought we clarified that already.

Then is it okay mix several graphic mods together?
Anatriax Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 What do you mean by mixing graphic mods?ENB with a weather system, lighting, and textures? yeah if you know what you're doing. The ENB has to be designed for the weather and lighting mods mentioned. Using the wrong mods with an ENB can result in a game that looks like mud. Textures are pretty much compatible with everything.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 In some cases you may get away with using certain mods and preset and it can still look good. I've done this for Fallout. It's about experimenting, but if it looks too bright or too dark, or if the color just looks bad, it's not a good combination and will require you to uninstall that graphical mod or do some tweaking to the ENB to go with those mods. And for that you'll need to know how to modify ENBs.
DupaStupid Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 Just the ENB installed my fps dropped to 45 for a few seconds when nearing the fort in the beginning of the game... 3570k @ 4.4ghz 2 evga gtx 660sc 2gb cards in sli game installed on a secondary 120GB SSD.
DarkPlague2863 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 If you're going to be using a good ENB Preset you might as well get used to ~30 FPS.
