bcE911 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I am trying to install FNV4GB through Prideslayers FOMM. I cannot find the Modify Executable command and though I searched through the FAQ, readme, and help I still could not find the command. How is FNV4GB installed through his specific FOMM?
Anatriax Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I Posted a reply to the other thread: You should be able to run 4gb Launcher outside of FOMM and be fine, as FOMM directly manipulates the file structure. As far as I'm aware, FOMM doesn't function like MO where you have to add each executable to the mod manager in order to get it to work properly.
zippy57 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 FOMM only modifies the data folder. FNV4GB does not install in the data folder. You cannot install FNV4GB with any version of FOMM. You would not be able to install it with MO either. Install the file manually.
Anatriax Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I think he's talking about changing the "Launch NVSE" button to "Launch 4GB Launcher"Or rather that the button launches the 4gb launcher instead of NVSE.
Anatriax Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 OP if you need assistance installing the 4GB launcher, phase 2 of my guide may be of some help
bcE911 Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 So does this mean I can either run FOMM or FNV4gb but not both or is there a command i can add to get the FNV4gb to run when I add NVSE. Also is the FNV4gb really needed or just a suggestion? Lastly what is prideslayers FOMM advantage over the regular FOMM for sexout. Sorry so many questions I am very new at this.
zippy57 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Prideslayer's FOMM fixes bugs and whatnot that the last "official" FOMM had. To run FNV4GB, double-click FNV4GB.
BCk9 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 "bce911" -IMO Prideslayers custom version of FOMM is the best mod manager to use for Fallout games. Some of the features. Works for 32 or 64 bit systems Can handle huge mod installs as one package [no more multi-part installs required, unless needed by the mod itself] -ie. I use to have trouble installing "Lings Coiffures" or "NMCS Textures" with prior versions downloaded from the Nexus site. Had to break the package down into smaller parts to install w/o crashing FOMM. Not anymore. Was never able to install "Tale of Two Wastelands" before, now I can...love, love, love..... Color coded ESM/esp load listing will show missing/out of order masters. Marvelous. There's a lot more, I highly recommend it. As for the FNV4GB enabler, It is pretty much essential for a smooth running game nowadays, especially if it's modded. I had the same issue trying to tag it to my FOMM. I quit trying because it's not necessary to do so. Install as per the instructions and create a shortcut for it on your desktop, run it from there. [Make sure Steam's running first, or wait while Steam loads before the game starts up] It will recognize, load, and run NVSE too! A MUST for any modded game [imo] Just a couple of notes from a so-so mod user. Hope its useful. {Everybody, If I've made an error, B-Slap me, Punish me, Correct me....wait a minute, that's one of my mods} No, honestly, I don't like bad info and I certainly don't want to spread it around. If I'm wrong it must be fixed. THX

If I'm wrong it must be fixed. THX Lol. Not gonna slap you. You might like it. However, MO coupled with Pridelayer's fork = win. (make sure to get the 32bit version, though. The Anycpu version will be recognized as an x64 binary, and not run through MO) That's the only edit I have. The reason I prefer MO + Prideslayer's fork is because with MO you never ACTUALLY alter your data folder, so it's easy to go back and remove a mod, or even make multiple profiles for different characters.
BCk9 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 "Anatriax" More Input and Info to add to my already cluttered brain. Me Likee you big time... I do know that MO is a marvelous manager, the multiple profiles and especially the feature that it does not modify the data files. I am currently learning to use it as I've got Skyrim sitting on my comp. for the past 1.5 years and I need a different world to explore for awhile. I've played Fallouts so much it's becoming mundane. I Thank the Modders for "Tale of Two Wastelands" for helping us keep things fresh, but I need to get medieval... Didn't know that the 32 bit version could be tagged for MO. My system is 64 bit, so I didn't try. Time to continue my experiments...Mwa-Ha-Haw!!...[sORRY! Started to slip onto character there...] [found the S.T.E.P. wikis a short time ago, onwards!..] THX]
Anatriax Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 NP, if you need a pointer and learning how to use MO? My guide is a great place to start for Skyrim
bcE911 Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 I want to make sure I have this correct. I instal FNV4g afterwards I open my FOMM by prideslayer but instead of hitting the FOMM NVSE button I minimize Fomm. Then I open my game through the FNG4g.exe I created. The Fomm will still make sure my mods are running even if I didnt open the game through FOMM by Prideslayer's NVSE Button?
zippy57 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 FOMM is just to install mods. It does not need to be open while playing. The button to launch the game from there is for convenience only.
bcE911 Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Oh and Anatriax your guide was very useful and I will definitely be using it for modding Skyrim as well. Thank you Zippy that was the piece I was missing!
Anatriax Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Why thanks bcE Hearing that means a lot. And Zippy is the man. If he doesn't have the answer to your question? He knows who does.
