Guest xlaw10 Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 So I just got back into Skyrim after being away for a long time. I currently have 7B hooked up, but I'm wanting a slimmer body now. Any word on which currently updating body with some real armor/clothing/support going on is the way to go?
gvman3670 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I like UNP HDT-PE. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21199/? There are quite a few BBP/TBBP/HDT mods out there for it. Plus it can be used with UNPB stuff as well, but the breasts will swell a bit when using those armors or clothing. Anything thinner, like UNPetite or UNP Skinny, don't have BBP/TBBP/HDT functions (although UNP TopModel does and it's pretty thin). I also have one Mod Organizer profile using the new CITRUS body and that allows you to build almost anything (like BodySlide does) right the RaceMenu character generator screens. But it has little to no support for clothing (although it works pretty well with UNP stuff as it is).

I keep switching from Bodyslide when I start to use it. Might be failing to use it properly.
gvman3670 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I like to keep it simple. And a program outside of Skyrim to generate a body nif isn't the simplest way to go. I would suggest the Fem Feet and Better Hand meshes on Nexus to go with it, though. CITRUS allows all the customization of BodySlide without needing a program outside of the game itself (and you can tweak it in game by using the showracemenu console command).
bahamut2119 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Uunp has the same ingame functionality plus it uses bodyslide.
Guest xlaw10 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Hmmm, is there one of these that's fairly close to TopModel? More for the overall body shape than the bust, if that opens up options. I was goign to go back to that, but it seems like development has stopped on it.
gvman3670 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I believe UUNP has a TopModel preset. But from there it should be able to be tweaked. It should also be able to recreate UNPetite or UNP Skinny if that's what you want. I just prefer simpler when I can have it, not that BS doesn't work. If you want a thinner body then TopModel is a nice one at lower weights and RaceMenu (when used with the newest Groovtama skeleton) can further tweak it. For that matter, UNP HDT-PE can go from very thin to rather voluptuous with RM and that skeleton.

I'd probably just use Top Model, to be honest, but I keep getting horrible neck seam issues, even with script cleaning and the provided ECE fix. I imagine it's because I'm using RaceMenu, not ECE. Does UUNP require ECE to work properly? Or, is there another Top Model (ish) looking body that's RaceMenu compatible? And yeah, I prefer simple. A body I can install and use without too many outside programs and the like.
gvman3670 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I've had a neck gap/seam with TopModel. I just needed to make sure that Zaz Animation pack wasn't overwriting it. With Mod Organizer it was easy fix...just drag and drop Zaz lower in the left pane. If you're using NMM or manually installing then your only fix is to reinstall Zaz after installing the body meshes (if that is what's causing it in your case).

It sounds like I need to get into Mod Organizer. Does the NMM reorganization option, or LOOT, not solve it the same way?
gvman3670 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 No. MO has two separate panes. The left one is the equivalent of the installation order in NMM or manual installs. This allows you to see what's virtually overwriting what at a glance and allows you to simply drag and drop them into an order that gives the overwrites you want (without ever permanently overwriting anything, it's more like "over reading"). The right pane is the master/plugin Load Order, similar to what NMM has. And LOOT is intergrated into MO, MO will warn you of potential mod order problems (and autofix if you let it), plus it has multiple profiles allowing you to play characters using different sets of mods if you want. And it doesn't put anything into your Skyrim folder so it stays clean and unbroken, meaning no more unnecessary game installs when the game inevitably breaks. I wouldn't play a Bethesda game without Mod Organizer. It's a very powerful tool.
Guest xlaw10 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Alright, guess that's what I'm doing. How much trouble is changing over going to be?
gvman3670 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 You'll need to start with a clean, fresh Skyrim install to reap the benefits of MO. You can take your current game saves, though, (found in documents/my games/skyrim) and move them elsewhere to install into Mod Organizer later. You can also take the mods archives folder from NMM and put it aside to keep your mods on hand. So reinstall Skyrim to a clean state. Clean everything with TES5Edit. Install Mod Organizer. Install drivers/ENBs/etc. into the Skryim root folder. Then start installing your mods back into Mod Organizer. There is a series of videos from Gopher explaining the process. Do yourself a BIG favor and watch the series. Here is the first in the series. It will make the switch much, much easier.
Guest xlaw10 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Alright, I'll put this on the to-do list for when I'm ready to take the plunge. Obviously, it'd be great to ditch NMM.
