Seeking Advice about Follower Control

I am trying to master control of additional followers, one of the biggest problems so far is getting them to wear what i want them to wear and then carry a bunch of other stuff. with the defualt HouseCarl that is rarely easy and I have not found how to get her to just wear one thing and carry the rest. So I ended up with dumps of stuff here and there

 

now i am trying out the Tweaks Follwer mod, it works so far, i was able to recruit one cool Dark Elf and she does follow but i have not figured out the storage system yet.

 

I found another follwoer mod that looks promising, called UO, and it allows up to 15 followers and has a lot of promised features.

 

Basically I just need a reliable system to engage about 3 or 4 followers and be able to park some of them and have the rest carry what i need carried, and also to ride and fight from horseback.

 

so, can anyone give advice? i dont mind doing the foot work and study things but Tweaks seems a bit Klunky and random, and the How to Recruit was never addressed in the Read me at all really, i had to use the Follow Me Spell as  a Power, so it didnt seem very well designed.

With UO, do you mean UFO? If yes, don't use it, it might sound promising and simple, but it has many bugs. Also it has less functions than other follower mods which make it sound more simple, but the other ones are simple too (with much more functions).

I would recommend you to use AFT or EFF.  I can't tell you the big differences, sorry. All I know is that AFT is using dialog and EFF is using an ingame menu. I'm using AFT and haven't tried EFF. I think it's just a personal taste.

With both you can manage followers, their inventory and other things. I don't know it, but I think the real differences are only noticeable if you want to turn your follower into a werewolf or vampire or give them unique combat styles or other things.

Try to google something like "skyrim aft or eff" and you will find enough information (topics, posts, videos, ...).

I have used all of them. AFT is my favorite. AFT forces the game to allow control over the outfit of almost any follower (some custom followers just won't play).

 

The only issue I have with AFT is that it allows followers to catch up to the player, and I don't know how to turn that off. This poses a serious aggrivation with slavery mods that are supposed to separate the player from the followers.

OK i have AFT installed now so i will just stick with that..thanks for the posts and the advice. much appreciated. I will study up on how to do that outfit control which is one of my main concerns..as i can custom them with the NPC editor but it is easier to change using the Follower mods. thanks again.
