Joomla Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 i have tried to limit my fps on my current install to under 60 but it doesnt listen to anything. first i checked my skyrimprefs.ini file BOTH in my game/skyrim AND mod organizer folder ones. there iPresentInterval setting is set to 1 then i tried to use ENB limiter. that ended up either being off or forcing 16fps no matter what i tried to tell it to set it to (it is latest version i downloaded 3 hours ago) i cant play skyrim right now because game is running almost 200 fps and the game world is going apeshit all over. character is swimming in land people jumping to moon items flying like they were possessed.
Anatriax Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 enblocal will clamp FPS, if it doesn't, there's an issue with your settings or with your timescale
HounDog Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 nowadays the enb limiter works for me but the mod below worked for me in the past, you may need to tweak some things to make it work alongside ENB http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34/?
Tepi Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I used to have the same issue where neither enb nor skyrims own vsync would limit the fps. I ended up using (and still am) radeonpro to limit the fps. So if you have amd gpu i'd suggest to take a look. It can do other wonders as well!

If so, you can enable VSync for skyrim through the control panel. I'm 50% sure AMD also has this ability
HounDog Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 ok, let's go back a bit.. first, remove the tool i linked and make sure your enblocal.ini has this: [LIMITER] WaitBusyRenderer=false EnableFPSLimit=true FPSLimit=60.0 also, do let us know what type of card you are using, and remember that for enb use your anisotropic and antialias settings must be off. if you still have issues then the next step would be to use the tool i linked without the enb. one or the other must work. if the tool works by itself then it should work in conjunction with the enb but you must make sure you follow the instructions on the description page. Also as asd suggested, there is always the option to force vsync in the video card control panel but it will do little good if you have a monitor that goes above 60Hz
HounDog Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 As for the out of focus thing, it is unrelated to your fps issue, maybe you left some files around when you were switching ENB presets?
Blackness blackness is... Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 setting the timescale to fast is scary.. i was afraid to look at anything, especially the sky

Also as asd suggested, there is always the option to force vsync in the video card control panel but it will do little good if you have a monitor that goes above 60Hz yep that was settings in enblocal.ini but it wasnt doing anything after i installed the limiter it actually locked it to 16 card is gtx 760 4GB card and AA and anisotopic is set off and that bFloat thing is set to 1 in skyrimpreffs.ini i tried to follow the guide in nvidia home page and set frame sync thing to active but it either did not do anything. it still was either 190-200 or 16 later on as i said afterwards i switched presets to real vision and it removed the actual fps issue by successfully locking it to 60. As for the out of focus thing, it is unrelated to your fps issue, maybe you left some files around when you were switching ENB presets? im pretty sure i removed everything since i had the original folder next to me as i was uninstalling files. (and after all files found in sharpshooter enb preset were removed i reinstalled normal enb run the game closed and installed real vision.)
HounDog Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Wait, sorry, i got lost here, so you succeeded in locking to 60 FPS using realvision and nothing else but now you have the out of focus thing? i don't use realvision so may not be able to help much if that's the case. If i remember correctly the performance version has no DoF at all?
