imreallybored Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Alright, so to the point, from the time I click on my SKSE launcher for Skyrim to the time I can see my game averages three minutes. Now, since I crash a shitload too, I spend most of my time waiting for this shit to load and googling problems. I've clicked more links than I can remember, and they all end before someone solves the problem. Do I need to send a copy of my loadorder? I've already tried clearing out saves and also sorting my mods with LOOT. I've read This, but would like to see if there's a way without having to reinstall my game and all my mods before I do so.Edit: and yes, my Skyrim is modded to high hell, with more mods than I'll ever do anything with. If that's the problem, then I'll just live with it.

Should be in the same section as "plugins"The slow load time is probably just ENB. Without ENB I get to the start screen from clicking SKSE within 15 seconds. With ENB enabled it can take as much as 3 minutes. It's just ENB loading. That's all.
imreallybored Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 I have changed that value to 4096, as told.I searched SKSE in my "E:/Games/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Skyrim" folder, all that came up was "SKSE.psc", "skse.pex", two folders without the file inside, and some enhanced camera files.I was also having a very slow loadup before I put the ENB in, if I recall correctly.

I take a screenshot to show you, but I use Mod Organizer (in case you use Mod Organizer, here is the location) %Skyrim\Data\SKSEAnd it shouldn't be a flat conversion of GB into MB such as 8192 or 4096. There is a specific value listed where I told you that is a combination of your GPU's RAM and your System RAM. Setting the value to the value of your GPU doesn't utilize ENBoost (built into ENB) and will decrease your performance. Setting it too high can negatively impact performance as well. Use the method I've suggested (The same method found on STEP's fine print under this heading for enblocal.ini). (The value you need to use is highlighted in the following screenshot in red)DO NOT use MY value. Your hardware may be different, as well as your Windows Installation. Find this value for yourself to optimize your performance.

There was no file.

Not really a way to fix it. It takes however long to load it's going to take to load.Your CTD's are probably because of heavy scripting, or a lack of VRAM. If your total available graphics memory for your ENTIRE machine (GPU+System RAM) is only 4096? You don't have enough VRAM to be running an ENB. Plain and simple. You're going to crash like a test dummy.

I don't know how much that adds up to, but that was the number under the advanced settings. I don't think the crashes are because of the ENB (although it might add some), as I have crashed plentiful times before it.

I don't know how much that adds up to, but that was the number under the advanced settings. I don't think the crashes are because of the ENB (although it might add some), as I have crashed plentiful times before it. That's a 2gb GPU, if I recall properly. In which case, that's on the LOW end of what is needed for ENB. Doesn't matter how much RAM you have. However, with 20gb of RAM coupled with that card? It's extremelly odd that you're showing only 4096 in your advanced settings. VERY odd. That total is almost always GPU+System RAM-Windows Usage=Total Available. So, yours should probably be right around 18gb (or 18432... give or take a few hundred mb); HOWEVER, changing all of this still won't change the fact that you have ENB installed and active... and that's the only way you're going to speed up your load in time. Open your Skyrim ROOT folder, move d3d9.dll to your desktop and out of your Skyrim folder, and try to boot in. IF it's faster? (it should be MUCH faster) There's your problem. If not? Then it's your mod set up. Either way, chances are you're just going to have to deal with it :/ it sucks, but it's the truth. EDIT: On a side note, 20gb is a really odd amount of RAM to be running. If your setup is 2x 8gb sticks and a 4gb stick, removing the 4gb stick will actually net you higher performance than having it in. Especially if the 2x 8gb sticks are the same, because then your RAM will be running in dual channel, meaning the sticks will be working together as a pair, the way they're designed. Adding in the 4gb stick will most certainly hamper your performance, and remove the dual channel capabilities of your matching sticks. If you have a different RAM setup, that could be part of why your only showing 4096 in your advanced settings. Your system may not be reading all of it. If you would please, take a screenshot of Control Panel > System and Security > System (The one where it shows your Operating System, The Windows Experience index, and your Windows activation across the bottom (you can black out the activation information if you like, I don't need that)) Also, take a screenshot of: Right Click on Desktop > Screen Resolution > Advanced Settings If you're unsure of how to take a screenshot of the desktop and it's windows: 1) Hold CTRL and hit Print Screen 2) Open Paint 3) Paste with CTRL+V 4) Save as .jpg to upload here. These things will help me get your enblocal.ini set up the way it should be set up, so that you can have optimal performance <3

I tried taking the d3d9.dll out of my Skyrim folder, and it still took the same (long) time. See the values in Installed Memory (RAM) and Shared System Memory? Those should be close, if not the same. There's something wrong with your system, or your OS (Looks pirated from what I can see in these images) that's causing Windows to not recognize part of your RAM. Yes, it reads it as installed, but it's not using it, or else it would be showing in shared system memory, too. I'd make a post on Tom's Hardware and ask why they're not the same, fix that problem, and surely it will help your overall system stability. This may also be part of the cause for your crashes and long load up times.
