[Question] For the 3ds Max USERS regarding Textures

Hello everyone,

So when i make a certain outfit/armor with some transparency area/s in it, to see the transparency level i check that in the game and it takes too much time if i'm adjusting the transparency level and not getting it right (to quit the game and redo the textures as many times as it takes to get it right).

I wanna know if there's a way to check it in 3ds max (i know i can see it in nifskope but i don't get the exact idea in nifskope) so my question is, is there a way to see the alpha property in 3ds max (so i can see the transparency when i load the textures in 3ds max)?

Like i'm making this SARI like outfit and i want it to be a bit transparent (depends on what fabric i'm choosing)

I'll be grateful for help, Thanks.

Note: Not asking about the black being transparent and wanting to see it in 3ds max, i'm talking about actual transparent textures (like with less opacity colored textures)

Opacity in max's view port is garbage, it can just about do transparency.

I made a quick DXT5 .dds with the alpha like so.

linked it to the diffuse and then copied it and linked it to opacity and changed the output to alpha.

Its alpha shader is only good for complete transparency. anything in between looks bad.. well worse then transparent anyway.

And how it looks in max's view port is not how it will look in game, nifskope will give you a better idea plus that is where you adjust the flags and threshold that will affect how the alpha looks.
