Nazgren Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Hi, I am rebuilding my Skyrim installation and have hit 284 plugins and am looking to learn how to bash patches. I followed a tutorial on youtube but i still have some questions. 1. How do i find out what plug ins have been bashed and can thus be deactivated on my modlist? Would i be right in thinking that i need to right click the patch, click List Patch Config and they would be listed as Merge Patches? The reason I'm skeptical is that even after running Loot there are only 6 patches here, not nearly enough of the 284 to get me below the 255 limit, which leads me to my next question 2. What in my load order can i manually list as merge-able? The Bashed Patch 0.esp file lists them, and they should automatically disable. Surely there must be more then 6 mergeable plug ins here? Not necessarily... for Wrye Bash, that is. Wrye Bash refuses to merge any plugins that do not specifically fit the criteria. To check, you can select a plugin and click the "merge plugin" button, and a popup will... pop up... telling you why it won't work. You can still merge the plugins using the xedit script (through TES5Edit), though. Found here: LINK Wrye Bash is actually pretty conservative about what it merges. I've gotten good results by using xedit and merging most of my armor and weapon mods together, most of my follower mods, and my hair-eyes-etc. mods together. Took me down from 324 to 252, which is just enough. You may also want to take a look at this video: LINK It's for a slightly older version of xedit, but it's still good. There might be a newer version out there too. Note that the video talks about going through MO to do it... I don't use, and have never used, Mod Organizer, so if you don't use it either, just ignore those bits.

I followed the instructions given and was able to merge all my add ons from Steam Workshop (For the most part T.A.V.E and quest mods) and i also ran Skyrim Mod Combiner to use loose files instead of BSA's to remove those 10 .ESPs which has brought me below the 255 limit. Thank you for the help.
