seth666c Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 could someone please help me if there is a way? my save file was 60+mb and it took me several minutes to load up the game with enb (phinix or something along the lines) so i read that i needed to use save cleaner, which i did, lost around 5mb but still the game still didn't load after 3 minutes (i shut it down in a bit of rage) and thought that unless i wanted to lose my 60ish hours of gameplay or unless i just quit, the game would be unbearable. if it gets this huge after 60ish hours of playing, i dread to think how large it might get after 100+ or is there a way to start over and not get such huge game files ?after such a short while?
gvman3670 Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Did you install then uninstall some scripted mods or something? 60mb is a HUGE game save file, they're usually mere kilobytes. My .ess files are 4-5 mb and my SKSE saves are 30-40kb. You have something going on there. Are you using MO? You could fire up a new profile with Alternate Start and see if it does it to a new profile, too. If something makes it hang up while hit ctrl/alt/del together and when the screen comes up hit the cancel button. It should force it to load. It has for me anyway.
seth666c Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 i just installed and uninstalled mods with NMM and later on with MO the saves seems to increase quite a lot but looks like even the first saves which are only 5-7mb also take ages to load and about scripts, i only used skse and i only installed fnis today dunno about other scripted mods... i guess i will try the alternate start and let you know how it goes (might as well try to time it) Edit: ok so i started alternate start game and it loaded up in about 2minutes and save is 5mb but the normal game didnt even start after 5-10minutes (while i was away to the toilet)
gvman3670 Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 You baked something into your old save while adding/removing stuff with NMM. That's my guess anyway. When you went to MO you did reinstall Skyrim and start over with a clean Skyrim folder, didn't you? If not then your game folder is still dirtied up from using NMM. That could be part of the issue. And in MO tell it to make local saves instead of saving to /my games/Skyrim/.
seth666c Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 ooooh, i usually let it save there , didn't know i could change save directory xD and err, i don't actually have something you could call a legal version ^^;; (since game is around 60euros? and my salary around 200or so...) so i can't conveniently just uninstall and reinstall and even the one i have is mixed with original+hearthfire+dawnguard+dragonborn+hialgoboost+papyrus+creationkit+wryebash+tes5edit+skse(an old version)
