xiro8877 Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Okay I've been banging my head on the desk in nifskope trying to figure out what is going on here. So I'm finding that the CHB body has at some point managed to get a small shading seam on the ass that shows up under certain shading conditions. Here's what I'm talking about AssSeamShade by elrodeus, on Flickr Now in this particular picture it doesn't look AS bad as it usually does. Sometimes most of the ass won't even be shaded but there's these two huge lines shaded running right up her cheeks. Now the crazy thing is here is another picture of my character wearing a corset. AssSeamGone by elrodeus, on Flickr Notice the change in shading and the lack of the seam lines running up her cheeks. Now I imagined this must be some sort of shading value that was changed when the person made the armor and corrected the seams in the nif. So I just simply took the body nif from the one without the seam and replaced it as my default femalebody_1 and....well as you could see in the first picture the seam is STILL there. I don't understand how I'm using the EXACT same body nif...one considered armor and the other not yet there's shading seams in one and not in the other. Is there a way to fix this that I'm not seeing? Any help would be appreciated. As it is now it seems my character has bad cellulite unless she's wearing certain armors that magically make it disappear. Thanks.
anubis Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 actually did'nt see if there's a different at all, maybe you can take screenshot more closely... imo, it might cause by body texture that you use, did you using any other texture which not from that body type, or maybe you mixed them (diffuse texture with different normal map) try to replace the texture again. And if its still there, try to set up the shader flag in nifskope same as vanilla use.
xiro8877 Posted March 26, 2012 Author Posted March 26, 2012 Alrighty I tried to take another screenshot but for some reason I just can't get them to show up on the screenshots as well as they do in game. It's definitely nothing to do with the texture as I'm using the same texture for both pictures in my first post. First I'll show you a picture with the lines colored in so you know where to look. ScreenShot19 - Copy by elrodeus, on Flickr And here's the pic ScreenShot19 by elrodeus, on Flickr Like I said the lines become more prominent at different times but its driving me insane because I can't figure out how adding the corset to the character makes them disappear even though I'm using the exact same body nif. I just don't understand it.
Vitriks Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 You are killing me... What happens to the sphere if you paste to it cube textures? Corset On body use another texture source.
xiro8877 Posted March 26, 2012 Author Posted March 26, 2012 I've opened up both textures in GIMP and I'm not seeing any difference at all. I'm probably misunderstanding what you're saying since it doesn't seem to be the actual .dds texture that's changed. I'll open up nifskope and make sure all the texture settings are matching since you said it's a problem with the source. I do get the whole circle and cube analogy though LOL. Anyway I'll mess with it for a while longer. Maybe I was trying to solve the problem by looking in all the wrong places.
xiro8877 Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Alrighty you were right Vitriks it was pointing to a different texture source. One that somehow doesn't seem to exist on my hard drive despite me typing the file name in my search bar on my comp. But nonetheless I've resolved the issue. I'll let this topic die. Thanks for your input man!
