Alphaman Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 I've come to you today to ask for armor recommendations. I'm looking for a particular type of armor: one that would look somewhat like the Black Puppet Armor Having seen that armor for the first time, I fell half in love with it. And noting the lack of good ports, I set to work on making my own, with (modesty aside) rather decent results for a first timer. As you can see from the images below, it's been carefully worked around a CBBE body, each bit set to a single bone so that it doesn't bend and stretch in strange ways, textures very slightly perfected in some parts or modified to account for personal taste in others, etc... But unfortunately, and with great sadness, I have arrived at an inevitable conclusion as I tried to improve the visual quality of my skyrim world: visually, the armor sucks. Even though the model is something out of my wet dreams, the textures are very much showing their age, making it look like a haphazard mass of plastic. And I can't do anything about it since textures are almost entirely outside my capabilities, so it's time to let go and find a new one The thing is, even after searching high and low, I haven't found any armor which offers the same appeal the Black Puppet Armor did. So I come to you all to ask for your recommendations. Specifically, recommendations for any good-looking armors which offer the same features of being strong and mecha-like in the looks department, yet are skimpy enough to look good on a female character. Even if it is an armor that hasn't yet been ported to skyrim, I'd like to know of it; if it's good enough, I will likely try my hand at porting it, rusty as I might be Thank you all in advance for reading through this.
Alphaman Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 I mean, I imagine I could try something like that, but I feel working with textures wouldn't yield any great results at all I can see myself doing something with the blue bits using your suggestions, but the rest of the armor has a very intricate model, I'm almost sure nothing I could do would look better than the original texture still, thank you very much for letting me in on that, I guess if everything else fails I might as well try changing small bits of the original texture
