Shadowhawk827 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 OK, I'm back to having this damned problem again. Before at least it was only a partial load or rendering failure. NOW, the CK is seemingly hanging up when starting to load a cell, ANY cell. The water appears, or that black mess that looks sort of like mess., and then maybe one object, but I can't do anything at all with the Render window. F5 doesn't work. I've also tried re-installing the CK and did a verify cache through Steam. The only thing that Verify Cache finds is the SkyrimEditor file since everybody edits it to allow multiple masters. Oddly enough, the rest of the CK still works. I can edit NPCs and view their previews for example. Any ideas?
Guest Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 You may have a basic mesh or texture that is corrupted. These meshes are the ones used to create the sky, the ground, and a few other items in the cells. Try to open an exterior cell and a basic interior cell. If you cant open an exterior cell but a basic interior one works, then I advise to reinstall the original bsa for meshes and textures. And check if you have any loose file that overwrites them. If you cannot load both interior and exterior cells have a look to the EditorWarnings.txt file (main Skyrim folder, NOT the Data folder) And check if in this file you will get a clue.
Shadowhawk827 Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 Seemed like a good guess there. Both Interior and Exterior cells are screwed BTW. I started by verifying cache on Skyrim itself and there were supposedly 5 files that were bad / missing. No luck there. I have a back-up clean basic install of Skyrim on a separate drive (for this kind of issue), so I copied the BSA files back over to the main drive install of Skyrim. Still no luck. The only error showing up in my EditorWarnings file that seems relevent is; TEXTURES: Could not queue texture 0xbc62449e I get that even after the BSA replacement. Seems like a good bet that something is interfering with the BSA, but I have next to nothing in my Skyrim directory. I use Mod Organizer and most anything that would overwrite is dumped there. I run the creation kit off of the basic Skyrim install to avoid any drama with mod conflicts.
Guest Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 This error for the texture is due to an exterior cell that has more than 4 textures assigned. Usually it is harmless, but in some bad cases the ground will be black (because the ground textures will not load correctly.) Try to open the CK with just Skyrim.esm, nothing else. Like if you try to create a new mod. Then try again the cell editor. If you succeed, then use TES5Edit to find the cell that has too many texture, and revert its textures to the original ones.
Shadowhawk827 Posted June 27, 2015 Author Posted June 27, 2015 Nothing ended up working. Elianora even suggested the following on the Nexus forums: "I have this. I dunno if it's the new Nvidia drivers or what, but it's VERY ANNOYING. You have to disable d3d9.dll before each time you load CK. That file will break the render window." Unfortunately I don't use an ENB, so that didn't work either, lol. I just ended up reinstalling Skyrim and the CK completely. Thank goodness I have a backup TES5edit cleaned install just waiting to be copied onto my main drive. THAT fixed it. Still not sure what was broken, but it must have been something fun if copying the entire meshes & textures BSAs at first didn't fix it, lol
Guest Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Happy you find a (drastic) solution. Re-installing is never something we want to do, but from time to time it is necessary...

Guest Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Always happy to help. But very often my help is useless.
