Niobia Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I've been crashing in skyrim a lot in the past 4 or 5 months, seemingly out of no where as i don't tend to install gameplay changing mods, but rather weapon and armor mods. I figured it was the sheer the number of mods so I've merged mods, taken mods out, nothing. I got all the usual bug fixes and what not, safetyload, ssme, enbboost, I fianally followed that stability mod and did everything it said. Still no change in crashes (each time I've used new save files of course). I crash when I load my current save 97% of the time. I have to load a save from when I first created my character and then load my current save, which pretty annoying. My game is always running at 60fps even when running outside where there's a ton of grass, so it has to be system that's giving out. So anyway, I decided to just start all the way. I uninstalled all my mods, uninstalled skyrim, deleted everything and reinstalled the game and only installed the mods absolutely wanted and was going to use. Went from 230 esp/esm down to 170 and now I'm down to 140ish. I did all the stuff in the stability guide, cleaned my DLC master files etc etc. The game still runs smooth but I still crash at the same frequency if not more so now. All the mods I use are updated as well.I've been struggling and dealing with this for 4 or 5 months and trying to fix this on my own. So i'm pretty much out of options. The crashes don't happen at a consistent rate or at the same spots for me to be able to test each mod by disabling one at a time. So now I'm hoping that by posting my load order someone who knows something could spot the mod(s) or conflict(s) that could be causing me to crash. Like maybe one of these mods I'm using is badly scripted To recap: -I crash when I load my current save, especially if my character is outside. So I have to load from when my character was first created and then load my current save -I crash at random (most recently I was at riverwood looking at an NPC use the wood cutting machine and then crashed) -I crash when map traveling, entering a building/outside or any new cell (seems like it happens 1 out of every 10 times I'm in a town) My load order: Skyrim.esm=1 Update.esm=1 Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp=1 Dawnguard.esm=1 Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp=1 HearthFires.esm=1 Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp=1 Dragonborn.esm=1 Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp=1 Skyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.esm=1 Schlongs of Skyrim - Core.esm=1 EFFCore.esm=1 MFVM.esm=1 ApachiiHairFemales.esm=1 ApachiiHairMales.esm=1 Gray Fox Cowl.esm=1 UndergroundBathhouse.esm=1 SexLab.esm=1 SharedSeranaDialogue.esm=1 ApachiiHair.esm=1 RSkyrimChildren.esm=1 SGHairPackBase.esm=1 SkyUI.esp=1 Auto Unequip Ammo.esp=1 RaceMenu.esp=1 RaceMenuPlugin.esp=1 RaceMenuOverlays.esp=1 Character Creation Overhaul.esp=1 Schlongs of Skyrim.esp=1 SOS - VectorPlexus Muscular Addon.esp=1 SOS - Dawnguard Armors.esp=1 SOS - B3lisario UNP Addon.esp=1 RaceMenuPluginXPMSE.esp=1 SOSRaceMenu.esp=1 AP Eyes.esp=1 UIExtensions.esp=1 Extended UI.esp=1 Customizable Camera.esp=1 DawnofSkyrim-AllMajorCities.esp=1 Brows.esp=1 CitrusHead - Standalone.esp=1 ethereal_elven_overhaul.esp=1 KS Hairdo's.esp=1 SCO Summer Edition.esp=1 LocalizedGuildJobs.esp=1 SMIM-Merged-All.esp=1 MaximumDrive.esp=1 FCO - Follower Commentary Overhaul.esp=1 EFFDialogue.esp=1 MFVM_EFF_Patch.esp=1 zzDreadlocks.esp=1 NorthernCardinal.esp=1 Blink - Standalone.esp=1 Hearthfire Cheat Chests.esp=1 SkyRe_StandingStones.esp=1 SkyRe_Races.esp=1 UndergroundAyleid.esp=1 Action Combat.esp=1 bobsarmory.esp=1 Vampire Skin Color Fix.esp=1 vMYC_MeetYourCharacters.esp=1 ApachiiHelmetWigs.esp=1 VioLens.esp=1 ub_apachii_hair.esp=1 ub_cell_darkarea.esp=1 ub_adoption_hearthfire_extention.esp=1 ub_tapestry.esp=1 ub_invite_any_npc.esp=1 ub_amulet_dialogue.esp=1 titkit.esp=1 TimingIsEverything.esp=1 Neithteam Warpaint.esp=1 TheEyesOfBeauty.esp=1 TERAArmors_CBBE.esp=1 UNP - Smithy Sex.esp=1 Svs Collection Jewelry.esp=1 aMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.esp=1 GM-CookingRebalanceFinalHearthfire.esp=1 MuscularWomen_Diesel_AR.esp=1 HearthfireMultiKid.esp=1 HearthfireMultiKid_LastName.esp=1 AHZmoreHUD.esp=1 MoreWomenDGDB.esp=1 NoNakedComments.esp=1 LadyKdCirclets.esp=1 DWISSglasses.esp=1 Brawl Bugs CE.esp=1 Remodeled Armor - Vanilla Replacer.esp=1 SOS - Revealing Armors.esp=1 Statues.esp=1 Breezehome-hf-CTD-fix.esp=1 Pinup Poser.esp=1 cpkinokopose.esp=1 SSAssist.esp=1 SexLab Submit.esp=1 SexLab Submit Serana.esp=1 SexLab Sound FX Replacer.esp=1 Halo's Poser.esp=1 ShowPoseMenu.esp=1 ShoutsRedragonized.esp=1 dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.esp=1 NonSexLabAnimationPack.esp=1 Apachii Male Edit.esp=1 keeperpossiblefix.esp=1 Remodeled Armor - Vanilla Replacer - Dawnguard.esp=1 Remodeled Armor - Vanilla Replacer - Dragonborn.esp=1 RSChildren - Complete.esp=1 SOS - Dragonborn Armors.esp=1 RSChildren_PatchUSKP.esp=1 NonEssentialChildren.esp=1 RSChildren_PatchNEC.esp=1 SCO Summer Edition - Water.esp=1 tweak_fog-AmbL_c.esp=1 rain_fog_storm_fix.esp=1 ENB Snow FX.esp=1 ELE-Spell and Torch Lighting.esp=1 Opeth_torch.esp=1 SGEyebrows.esp=1 SGHairPackAIO.esp=1 FollowerLivePackage.esp=1 PerkusMaximus_Master.esp=1 PerMaDefluffedPerkDescriptions.esp=1 PerkusMaximus_Thief.esp=1 Unlimited_Rings.esp=1 PerkusMaximus_Mage.esp=1 PerkusMaximus_Warrior.esp=1 UltimateCombat.esp=1 PerMa Fixes.esp=1 Magicka Sabers.esp=1 HealerRobes.esp=1 Mai.esp=1 FollowerLivePackage-EFF.esp=1 EFFDialogueDLC.esp=1 Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp=1 Stormcloaks_n_Guards_with_Face.esp=1 PatchusMaximus.esp=1
Extrication Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Most likely yes, a lot mods can conflict with others that aren't listed in the confliction section(if present).I know of two utilities you can use to try and check. There is LOOT which is used to detect conflictions and to create the best possible load order to reduce them, it works with Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas and should still work for TESVI(6) and Fallout 4 when they come out. TES5Edit is mostly used to clean files of different kinds, it can also be used to change values in mods as well, example is change values or armors, weapons, and spells.Hope this helps.

Thank you, but I already know about all of this stuff and use LOOT and TES5edit to edit mods and merge them and such. I'd say I'm at least above the intermediate when it comes to modding bethsda games. They don't show any possible issues and such. Wheat I'm asking is if anyone happens to know if any of these mods are known to cause an issue specifically. Like how Glowing Unread books causes CTD when you start a new game or how Localized Damage causes heavy script lag. I know it's a long shot, but I've already done everything short of getting rid of even more of these mods which make the game enjoyable for me.

Except my system isn't as powerful as yours so I have a lot less mods. But anyway, it wasnt until i got rid of anything that had to with HDT physics that my crashes became less of an issue. I still get crashes but on a lower scale then i did. It's weird because before i had no crash problems. Could play the game for hours. But then my hard drive crashed and i had to get a new one and then i had the same problems you have and i got rid of the HDT stuff. Still trying to figure out how I can get it back to what it used to be....

Ah, well, you can try checking the forums of each one, but no guarantee. It might be a hardware issue, an example is Fallout 3 doesn't like quad-core and would constantly crashes, so you can try and see if you computer components them selves might be causing it. Might you by any change have had mods with scrips that you didn't like and just removed them possibly leaving orphan scrips behind? The CTD issue was actually something I had issues with before.
NexusZero99 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 It could be the games limitations. Check out gopher's Skyrim mod sanctuary, He has some vids on CTD and game limits.
Niobia Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 I took away static mesh improvement. All clothing and armor hd retextures and unmerged some NPC mods and let go of perma. That seems to have stopped some of my crashing. I'll have to do some more testing. Its weird because I had all this stuff for years and crashing like this started earlier this year. But yeah, it seems like my game is a little more stable now that I got rid of improved meshes and textures. It's strange. I can run the game with everything retextured in 2k and run the game super smooth and have no problems. I know many others can run these retxtures withut crashing to hell, but I guess most of those people don't have HDT physics, SoS, and sexlab related stuff. I hope fallout 4 isn't this unstable. Thanks for all the replies.
