hornguy6 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 It wasn't an issue before, but nowadays it seems like I have a 50/50 chance of an interior cell not loading and people and items just fall through the floor. On top of this I also get problems where textures just go randomly missing, where people's faces and hands will be purple. Am I doing it wrong? I'd put in screenshots but for some reason Steam doesn't want to save any of my screenshots so...
Jayce Dimmer Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Your load order is a mess. Go organize it properly. You didn't even correctly order the TTW .esm files.
hornguy6 Posted June 21, 2015 Author Posted June 21, 2015 Your load order is a mess. Go organize it properly. You didn't even correctly order the TTW .esm files. Hmm. I just noticed now that the load order I posted isn't exactly in the same order that it is in my mod manager for some reason. The TTW are for sure in the correct order though. I maybe (unjustly perhaps) paranoid of using mod organizers on my Fallout because the last time I did that it fucked up my entire game for a while. I couldn't even play at all. Maybe I'll try again and see if I can get rid of that paranoia.
CGi Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Sounds like your system hit a memory limit.Worth a try: Optimize your textures (using DDSopt [works for FO3, FO:NV, TESIV and TESV] or similar) and/or download lower resolution versions. For 2GB Grafic cards: 1k, 3GB and up: 2k. Everything above 2k is up to personal taste.

hornguy6 Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 Total active plugins: 103 Total plugins: 152 I suggest to remove the unused plugins from the folder I started deleting everything I could spare shortly after I made this post. I haven't tested things too much yet though so I'll have to see what's up.

I'm confused because Fallout 3 has its own BSA in the New Vegas directory.
CGi Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Erm... let me try to explain. in my example i use drive C and 2 folders named Tex2Opt and TexOpted as example, resulting in C:\Tex2Opt (input) and C:\TexOpted (output). And i assume you want to go back to using BSAs afterwards, which means you need a tool like BSAOpt as well. if you want to stick with loose textures, you can ignore those steps and simply unpack all BSAs to C:\Tex2Opt and then copy the loose texture folder there, overwriting already existing files (in this order, as loose files win over BSAs). And i assume you don't use ModOrganizer, means everything is either located inside the games data folder or NMMs mod installation folder. The latest NMM does not install anything into the data folder, but instead uses symbolic links. DON'T copy those, as those just link to the original BSAs and the original texture folder. But then again: i don't use NMM, so what i wrote about NMMs functionality may be complete bullshit. Just make sure, you access the actual/correct files. 0. Create the folders Tex2Opt and TexOpted on drive C1. Create folders with the name of the BSA you're about to unpack in C:\Tex2Opt (for every single one)2. Open BSAOpt and open the BSA you want to unpack 3. Choose C:\Tex2Opt\{NameOfBSA} as target (replace {NameOfBSA} with the name of the folder you just created) 4. Repeat until alls BSAs are unpacked into their own folder 5. Copy the Texture folder to C:\Tex2Opt 6. Open DDSOpt and choose C:\Tex2Opt as input folder 7. Choose C:\TexOpted as target folder 8. In the menu Game choose Oblivion (NOT Skyrim); if you don't like this step, choose any other texture optimizer that may offer direct handling for FO:NV 8.5 (Optional) in the tab Constraints choose the texture format of your choice 9. in the tab Constraints choose either 1024x1024 or 2048x2048 as resolution limit for compressed and uncompressed 10. Click the Process button and wait for the program to finish; May take a rather long time, depending on how fast your system is, how big the source textures are and how many textures need to be optimized 11. Make sure you backed up your texture folder and the orignal BSAs by moving them somewhere else. if you copied them, delete them from the data or NMM mod folder. 12. Open C:\TexOpted in explorer, TC or whatever else you use as file manager 13. Move the texture folder back to Data or NMMs mod folder 14. Open BSAOpt 15. Choose a subfolder in C:\TexOpted as input (should have the name of the original BSA to make things easy) 16. Choose the data folder or NMMs mod folder as output and append \{NameOfBSAFolder}.bsa 17. in the menu Compression choose 7 18. Click the Compress button 19. Rinse and repeat for every BSA folder 20. Fire up your game and see if everything works 21. if not, make sure you didn't skip a step and/or choose a lower resolution for optimization 22. Delete C:\Tex2Opt and C:\TexOpted 23. if it didn't solve your problem and you want to return back to the original state, restore the backed up BSAs and the texture folder - if you forgot this step ... well ... reinstall those mods Not the prettiest explanation, but should do the trick and looks more complicated then it is. P.s.: By default DDSOpt copies all files, that are not textures, into the target folder (menu ignore -> last entrie [passthru]). if it didn't, you got to do this yourself. And alternativly, you can feed BSAs directly into DDSOpt. i never used this functionality, so it's up to you if you want to give it a try. Definitly less confusing, less steps and no BSAOpt (and according steps) needed, as you can optimize directly from the mod installation folder into C:\TexOpted. Just make sure you don't select the whole installation folder, but the texture folder and each BSA seperatly.
