A few questions about Mod Organizer

I recently switched from NMM to Mod Organizer on a fresh install/reformat and I can see why so many people use it. The customization is great.

I had a few questions. Please tell me if there's a good tutorial on any of these.

1. The big one is the left pane priority issue. It's extremely frustrating trying to organize the order so that the proper mods are overwriting the proper files. It's really hard to organize because the mods overwriting one another can vary greatly so before you know it you have a spider web of confusion.

What's the easiest way to navigate overwrites/conflicts?

2. If I have Mod A and Mod B and I want most of the files from B to overwrite A then I place it below. Right? But if I want some files from A to overwrite B then I click on those files and select "hide"? Is that right?

3. Following #2 above: If I have some files selected from "CBBE I Love Cleavage" and some files from "ChronoTrigger77 for Remodeled Armor for CBBE Bodyslide and BBP" and I want to use BodySlide to do a batch build of one preset, will the bodies that are changed follow my rules from #2?

4. Last question. When I do TES5Edit merging of esps I have been taking the "overwrite" files at the bottom of the left pane and creating a new mod of the merged files. I then delete the un-merged installations above. But should I keep those un-merged files above just in case the merge didn't copy all the files I need? Since any duplicate files are overwritten by Mod Organizer I suppose it wouldn't hurt?

in answer to 1: it's really not that confusing they have this icon next to each mod that shows a plus or minus or a plusminus and when yu right click the mod and go to information and go to conflicts tab you see the top section tells you whihc files this mod overwrites and below it are which other mods overwrite this one and the number of files is displayed next to it.  have you checked out STEP they have lots of information about using mod organizer and its a great starting point to using MO and some useful mods. as well

in answer to 2: yes and no if you want files from mod A to appear you hide those files from mod B so that the files from mod A path is all clear

i'm sorry i'm not sure if i can help you with this but i'm sure someone else here can

in answer to 4: do you use Merge Plugins xEdit Script to merge plugins.  also i only delete mods and the files within  if they are old and/or i'm never going to use them again. you just need to deselect the esps and esms of the mods that you've merged using the mod i mentioned above.

Yes I use XEdit for merging. I'm just curious about after I'm done merging and the "overwritten" data goes into Mod Organizer at the bottom I create a new mod. Then I go to the mod folders ABOVE that I merged and delete them.

But I realized something. Although I am copying the esps and bsas and unpacking them, what about the loose meshes, textures and scripts from the other mods? I don't know if they get merged? Maybe I should leave those mods installed just in case?
