bigglebojiggle Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 My friend is having an issue, he has SexLab (newest version) and Schlongs of Skyrim 2.05.041 and hes getting an error, something along the lines of not being able to find Papyrus Util 2.8, only find 2.6. Both of us have the same versions of both of these programs, and both of us have manually installed the newest papyrus util (2.8) in the Skyrim data folder. I do not get this error (but I have in the past, for me it never did anything). Im pretty sure the only adult mods he has right now are SexLab, SOS, and Puppet Master. He should have the newest XPMS skeleton, HDT 14.28, and SevenBase body type. He gets this error message (as well as having freezing issues with the armor mod I gave him) but I dont and I have no idea how to help him anymore than I have so I'm trying to find out if anyone has any ideas. I can say the armors work for me so I'm not really sure what the issue is.
Gameplayer Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Install Schlong First Then install Sexlab. OR Just install Papyrus Util after all of that. Pretty common error.
bigglebojiggle Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Install Schlong First Then install Sexlab. OR Just install Papyrus Util after all of that. Pretty common error. Well both SexLab and SOS are installed through Mod Organizer, we put Papyrus Util in the Skyrim folder manually though, not sure if that will make a difference or not.
Dreamweaver Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I'm fairly certain that putting PapyrusUtil directly in the Skyrim folder will mean it's overwritten by anything installed through MO that includes a version of it. So both SexLab and SOS are probably overwriting it, meaning the directly installed version is redundant, and it's down to which of those has the priority as to which one wins. So make sure whichever includes the most recent version has the higher priority, or install PapyrusUtil through MO after both of them instead of direct.

Hmm, I hadnt thought of that, I'll let him know, thanks
srayesmanll Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 What I do is install PapyrusUtils 2.8 separately and give it the (nearly) highest priority in the left pane of MO. This should make sure that 2.8 is used regardless of the mod priority of SOS or SexLab. The other thing to do is reinstall SOS and UNCHECK the the option to install PapyrusUtils during the install. 2.5.41 (and some earlier versions) included that as an option, and I think the 3.00.002-beta either has it removed or is OFF by default to help stop this issue. Putting SexLab in a higher priority should solve the issue as well. I also install JContainers separately as well and put high in the load order. Basically my last 3 (highest priority) items in the left pane are: PapyrusUtils JContainers XPMS extended skeleton This setup so far has worked well to bypass issues with included (and outdated) PU, JC, & Skeletons.

Well I dont think either one of us ever use JContainers, dont remember what its for, but we fixed the issue by simply having the load order go: SexLab SOS The freezing issue he was having was with an armor mod I gave him, somehow there was a mistake with the armor (it also happened to me), got it all sorted out now.
srayesmanll Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I was just including JContainers because of the same kind of situation - different mods may include an older version of JContainers. Having JC and PU as separate installs and at the higher priorities (again this is assuming installing through Mod Organizer) should make sure the newest version is used regardless of what older version is added by any mod. By the way, if you are using More Nasty Critters, you have JContainers installed.
